Yes it's a "dual kit" (basically just different guns), but it went from $35 to $50 and has 2 less models (10 instead of 12). That's $3 per model to $5 per model, a 67% increase in price

Don't they include a new stationary turret? So we get the new dual kit, and one less model in theory, but a price hike.

It's not a sign, it's just another example of the continuing paradigm. Look at Dire Avengers that were $40/45 for 10 and are now $35 for 5, or Guardsmen which are now $30 for 10 when they were $35 for 20. The old metal Kasrkin stormtroopers were $45/50 for 10 guys, now the plastic Scion replacements are $35 for 5.

The Fire Warriors are nothing new unfortunately.

And it will keep going... and going... and going. Because this is the best solution GW found to mask its declining sales. Sell less models for more money, and (sometimes) lower those models point costs so the players will need more of them. The Dual kit bs is just their latest way of lying their way out of a price hike - when all is said and done you're still paying more for less models, in a hobby that was already outpricing many of its previous "player"base.

And then they wonder why they sell less and less...

Chest: 12/10
Legs 15/13 (5 poses/6 poses)
Backpack 12/20 (1 type/2 types)
Shoulderpad 12/20 (1 type/2 types)
Head 15/26
Gun hands 21/30 (2 types/3 types. no count of poses)
Misc hands 6/5 (2 types/ 5 types)
Drones 2/2 (gun only/guns,shield,marker options)
Turret 0/1
Bitz some/plenty

Overall, new has much more plastic involved, even though 2 less warriors. mainly due to option overload.
(feth me if I know why you need 2 shoulder pad and helmet styles though)

So overall, if you know you want lots of strikers, you might as well try to Ebay some old style. not same quality kit, but its cheaper.
If you want the higher quality molds, more poses, conversion bits and possibly breachers-the new kit will serve you better.

Actually, I said this in a different thread, but I think instead of selling two drones for 12$, they should have just made Sprue bits that included all the different drone weapons (including Sniper and the new Guardian), thrown in a Plasma Rifles for Crisis Suits while making the Missile Pod for drones work as Crisis Suit one, and just charged 5$ for each sprue. Yes it's only 10$ per two drones as opposed to 12$, but it's something people would buy with all those extra drones they get in kits, and something they'd buy to finish their Crisis Suits, as opposed to selling drones no one needs, and hiking up the cost of FW kits by including all that stuff in them.

I mean wouldn't you like that Sprue so much more than what we have now?

The first thing I thought when I saw the first dual kits was "damn now that's one way to deal with magnetization". If you could have interchangeable bits, then all you would need is a magnet and you're saving money... and that's not what GW wants, now is it?
