The tournament consisted of 6 games of 40k over two days, featuring a mixture of eternal war and maelstrom missions. Lists were 1850 pts and could include units from up to two detachments (which could be formations). Armies could not include "come the apocalypse" allies and a maximum of 600 pts could be spent on Forgeworld/Superheavies/Gargantuan creatures. There were some comp rules including; maximum 18 warp charge dice, re-rolled saves capped at 4+ and invulnerable saves allowed vs destroyer weapons.

Each mission would use a mixture of primary and secondary objective victory points to determine the winner and the differences between the victory points for both players would determine how many tournament points they each scored. For the missions, First Blood was replaced with Draw Blood; select an enemy unit, if they are destroyed by the end of the game, you achieve the objective. A nice change that reduces the importance of going first in missions.

Kor'sarro Khan- Moondrakken
Librarian- Mastery Level 2, Auspex, Meltabombs, Force Sword, Bolt Pistol
5 Command Squad- Mounted on bikes, 4 grav guns, 2 storm shields, Apothecary

5 Bikers- 2 Grav guns, sergeant has meltabombs
5 Bikers- 2 Grav guns, sergeant has meltabombs
5 Bikers- 2 Meltaguns, sergeant has meltabombs
10 Tactical marines- Meltagun, sergeant has combi-melta and meltabombs
Drop Pod- Storm Bolter
5 Scouts- Bolt pistols, close combat weapons, sergeant has meltabombs
Landspeeder Storm- Heavy Bolter, Cerberus Missile launcher

Drop Pod- Deathwind missile launcher
Stormtalon- TL assault cannons, skyhammer missile launcher
2 Attack Bikes- Multimeltas

5 Devastators- 4 Missile Launchers
Rhino- Storm Bolter
3 Centurions- Grav amps and grav cannons, hurricane bolters

- Not keeping units in reserve
- Focusing on the Relic and not suiciding the Centurions and Command squad

Second you just needed one turn to get away from the Wraiths. I would have used a sacrificial unit to bait them away from your main force.

Cheers! I wasn't sure about the Wraiths, but a lot of people have said the same thing. I assumed the rules were correct, but should have queried it to make sure.

I thought about sacrificing a unit to the Wratihs, but the only unit I had left (apart from the command squad) was a couple of bikers and I'm sure the Wraiths and characters would have easily torn through them.

My rolling was pretty poor in this game. Thanks! I like to do some after battle comments on the game to see where I could improve or what plans work well in the game. I think it helps improve the army and prevents me from making the same mistakes over and over.

However, even if you didn't kill the unit you wanted to kill, this drew a lot of you opponent's forces ,cutting his army in two for the cost of only one unit.
I think it's a pretty good idea^^

When you chose to concentrate your fire in the wraiths, I thought "oh God no, he is going to loose this battle" ah ah^^

Oh, and I'm happy to have info about Khan, especially in combat, as I rarely heard about him. Seems to be a solide choice.

Yeah, I should have known better about the Wraiths. I have faced the before and they are always a tough unit to beat in the Cryptek harvest formation. I honestly thought I would do better than 2 wounds though! Hopefully, I'll remember that lesson for next time and not focus on them.

I like taking Khan.
