				<description><![CDATA[ Hey, something i was wondering today while staring at all the models i still need to paint.  I know there short of a true trans orbital flyer but how high can a speeder fly.  ]]></description>

Both editions of Imperial Armour volume 2 give it an operational ceiling of 100m. The 1st edition noted that it's very fast for a low-level anti-grav skimmer but not by conventional aircraft standards, whilst the 2nd edition outright states that still only has the same operational ceiling as all Land Speeders. The best write-up the Tempest has had in that regard was Imperial Armour Aeronautica which said they are "particularly valued for its ability to take on enemy flyers in close support of ground forces." but given the above limitations that just means it functions as a sort of nippy little (near) surface-to-air missile launcher.  ]]></description>
