I should really have said "not including Chaos Undivided". There're maybe two non-direct Legion linked Nurgle, Slaanesh and Tzeentch warbands whereas there's lots and lots of Khorne ones.

GW writes tuff about their product line and Khorn offers a easily recognisable iconography and style that looks good as Chaos poster child. The other choice would have been Nurgle to go all Zombie in design. The hardest one is Tzeentch since the Ancient Egypt design is also the one used by Necron and Slaanesh doesn't really look good on over sized beefy super soldiers. In universe, the major source of cult marines are the four cult legions; Thousand Sons, Emperor's Children, Death Guard and World Eaters.

There are named 'splinter factions' of each (Ahriman's lot, for example, are the Brotherhood Of Dust) but the World Eaters are broken up into a LOT of splinters - so much so that there isn't really an 'original' legion left, even if one of them kept the name.

Business-wise, a lot of the factions were either introduced or were expanded from more than a one-line reference in the Khorne Daemonkin codex. There hasn't yet been an equivalent book for the other powers - because that release was largely driven by the new Bloodthirster models released for WHFB End Times.

Several warbands who "used to be part of the world eaters", and several who may claim to be "the world eaters" but don't acknowledge, co-operate with or communicate with any of the other warbands who claim the same.
