The kids had a great morning though, and it seems as each year goes by, that becomes more and more the point of it all.

I think you are correct. Seems to me the biggest joy is seeing the excitement of the kids. I don't have kids of my own, but I get to see my Cousin's kids. It really is wonderful and I treasure it because I know it won't last. Sooner or later they will outgrow things.

Wow, that is cold. Glad it wasn't that cold where I am at, but it was bad enough. Really winter hasn't been too bad here.

I would be tempted to have a snow fight using the snowblower. And a little work never hurt anyone. Mine's far too warm. It got up to 70F on Christmas eve.
