I've cleaned the card of any dust and the port as well. The fan runs when plugged in, but it's not being recognized. I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers and the Catalyst program to no avail. My last resort would be to do a factory restore, but my CD drive isn't reading my Windows install disc...

How would I do this? The SATA cables all look fine to me. In the BIOS there's an option for Boot Sequence. You can move the Boot priority in there. If you change it so the ODD's the first thing that's checked then you can Boot from the disk. However if you put the OS media into the drive it should be picking that up and Booting from that by default IIRC. What's the system type?

The usual sequence of troubleshooting for this would be:

* Circumstances/ history of the fault / any environmental changes?
* Remove all peripherals bar effected components.
* Uninstall/ Reinstall Video Drivers
* Attempt System Restore
* Confirm if occurs in Safe Mode with Networking (which honestly would come before those two, but well, may as well check anyway)
* Update BIOS
* Run any Pre-Boot diagnostics (though most don't check for external cards, bar connectivity)
* Reseat Card

If at that point its still not working then try a card in a known good system and vice versa. Try installing Ubuntu in a partition and see if it has the same fault. Check under miscellaneous devices in the BIOS whether the card's picked up there (not all BIOS have this). If not detected in BIOS/ not working in Ubuntu then replace the card and/or Motherboard. If is detected in BIOS/ working with alt-OS then its an OS issue. If not resolved by System restore then OS reinstall, pending further relevant troubleshooting (based on the system type).
