Your experience mirrors my own: Harlequins are great in a 5-turn game, but the longer the game goes the harder it becomes to pull out the victory. Harlequins can get off to very strong starts but don't have the staying power to maintain it. It's no coincidence one of the Warlord traits you can roll is adding or subtracting 2 to the game continuation roll.
