Flayertroupe Problems

So despite the Flayertroupe being the smaller of all the formations it is possibly the most costly if your running fiends, and so the question is can I still run 6 units of daemonettes and still have a powerful army? I mean daemonettes are quite strong and cheap and possibly better value than seekers but the delivery is more difficult. What are your thoughts?

I think daemonettes are a great way to go. All of the new formations (except the tetrad) are a bit more expensive than I'd like, but at least daemonettes are solid units. If you take a locus to get Move Through Cover, you can simply deepstrike them into cover. We run fast enough to reposition and prepare for an assault on the following turn pretty reliably. I haven't played my chaos stuff much yet, but on paper, I see daemonettes as a deepstriking unit that provides the "real" punch after our other units have spent a couple turns moving up the board.

So seekers, fiends, etc. can just sort of fly up the board and try to hide behind buildings as they close the gap. Turns 2 and 3 they start looking for assaults. In the meantime, most of your daemonettes will start showing up on turn 2 and preparing to assault turn 3. Because most of our damage comes from rending, volume of attacks kind of outweighs high strength.

At least, that's this newbie Slaanesh player's take on things.

A basic unit of Daemonettes with an Instrument costs 5pts less than a minimum squad of Fiends. In truth, they're roughly the same cost to put on the board.

My first go at a list is four minimum squads of Daemonettes with Instruments (for improved reserve arrival) and two minimum squads of Fiends. The former give you table coverage while the latter give you excellent assault range. Fiends are prone to being ID'd off the table, so there's risk in that regard. Cost wise, they're more or less the same.
