Back into 40k and Requesting Some Ideas

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and thought I first would say hello to everyone.

I am starting to get back into 40k (still fairly new to 40k) after a hiatus of playing warmahordes with a friend and I have a few thoughts and questions I would like to post to get a better track of what I should aim for when creating my army. I have collected quite a few models for a few armies, but I believe that I am going to focus on Orks as my primary army. I just enjoy the models, the fluff, and it even fits my personality in a way. Orks have always been fun, but I need a little bit of help at figuring what I should do next to make a list, and needing a little bit of help with list creation.

My goal currently is to create a 1500-2000 point list.

I have quite a few models already, mainly boyz, nobz, a warboss, 10 stormboyz, 1 trukk, 1 battlewagon, 3 deffkoptas, 7-9 bikers, 3 grot squads, 3 killa kans, Grukk Face-Rippa, and maybe some other models, but do not remember. I kind of want to lean toward a vehicle style list, I enjoy battlewagons, trukks, and their flyer (any variation).

Also I have a few questions on other units in the ork codex because I'm not very familiar with the new codex yet and wondered if anyone thinks they are good to take or not.
Warning LOTS of Question
Questions

General
One force or a two force detachment?
I do not currently own Ghazghkull Thraka’s supplement, but I’m curious of people’s opinions on it. How do people use this book as well?

HQ slot
I have a good idea of how to kit my warboss, but what do people suggest?
Big Mek, KFF, on bike any good?

Troops
Shoota vs Slugga is it good to take many of one over the other or is balanced good too? (like 2 units of each)

Elites
Nob Bikers any good? How should they be kitted out?
Meganobz are they worth the points?
Kommandos, Tankbusta, and Burna Boyz any of them good? I'm interested in Tankbustas

Fast Attack
Out of the Bommas is one overall better than the other? I really enjoy the Dakkajet and will probably take one of those?
Deffkoptas I have heard many use and enjoy, should they be taken in singles or in small units?
Stormboyz are they worth taking?
Warbikers are they better to take as regular or go with the elite choice and have nob bikers?
How many warbikers to take in a squad?
Warbuggies any good? Never seen them get played

Heavy Support
I know how I want to equip my battlewagons, but is it better to have them plain jane and use a ram or deff rolla or should guns be added?
Looted Wagons any good with killkannons?
Flash Gitz any good?
Gorkanaut or Morkanaut expensive model (financially) worth the price?
Killa Kans if one makes a list with them are they any good? Same goes for Deff Dreads
Mek Gunz (not experienced in them) would love to know more about them as in which one is better? Anyone have a cheap way to convert them in mind?
Lootas seem great, but with all the heavy supports which would be better to take?

Lord of War
Stompa...I want one O_O that is all...yep I know not really a question haha.

Thanks for reading! I just want to get a general idea and others opinions to get a better idea of where I should head next with my army. Thinking toward a Trukk list with Battlewagons and maybe a dakkajet or bomma

Re:Back into 40k and Requesting Some Ideas

OK, here it goes...

General:
Two CAD's is quite effective. It allows you to take more heavy support, which is an incredibly crowded slot.
I run a mek horde, tons of walkers and light vehicles, so I use the Ghaz supplement for the 4++ kustom force field, that's about it. I can't give any other advice.

HQ:
Warboss with mega armor and a lucky stick is popular. Great for adding protection to a unit by soaking up ap 3 or worse. Ap 2 you just look out sir to someone else
I use the mek on a bike all the time. But, it depends what you need it for. I use it to keep up with my kans/deff dreads/other vehicles.

Troops:
Most people lean towards choppas, just because they are cheaper and the extra attacks don't hurt. Shootas are pretty great themselves and can do some damage, but, in doing so, can put themselves out of charge rage, which is usually where Orks wanna be.

Elites:
Nob bikers are too pricey. Regular bikers are vastly superior.
Meganobz are most certainly worth their points. 3 in a trukk offers a dangerous, but cheap and disposable threat
Tanbustas are king - burnas are too pricey and susceptible to damage. Kommandos are hit or miss - again, they suffer from poor survivability

Fast attack:
Dakkajets are still quite solid. Deffkoptas in singles are good to grab objectives and add to the general target saturation if you have the free slots. A few in a squad is still fairly effective though.
Stormboyz are also hit or miss. They are relatively cheap, but their inability to take heavy armor really hurts.
Warbikes are fantastic. Squad size - go big, usually, unless you are trying to swarm the opponent with MSU.
Outflanking buggies are a economical distraction unit that can quite seriously threaten backfield artillery, the rear armor of tanks, etc. Often all you need to do is stun the enemy tanks to give your boyz time to advance, so the ap 3 isn't a big deal.

Heavy support:
A ram is fine on the battlewagon, but most people don't invest too heavily in them. They are already fairly expensive. If you do get the killkannon, do not bother with other upgrades.
Looted wagons lack defense to a serious degree. If you are playing friendly games, they can be fun. Against more competitive lists, they die too easily.
Flash gitz in a battlewagon can do some serious damage. Beware of enemy flamers though!
The general consensus is that the Gork and Mork...anauts... are too pricey. But, my Morkanaut almost always pays for itself. The kustom force field on such a large base helps keep the kans and dreads advancing. Beware though, it can be blown up with a single ap 2 shot.
Kans are too pricey and weak. However, in a kan/dread/naut list, they are useful. This is, again, only if you aren't playing in a very competitive environment.
Mek guns are fantastic and being Orks, super easy to convert out of almost anything. Your imagination is the ceiling.
Lootas are an all around safe, solid choice. Put them in cover - or better yet, a building - and they will do some work.

As effigies of Gork or possibly Mork, you can't go wrong with Stompas!

Thanks for the response! This has helped me get a better ideas of some of these questions I had.

I'm thinking of building a list that is focused primarily in vehicles almost like a Speed Freaks army. Tossing around ideas here and there, probably will build a list and post it to get people's opinions.
