I figured I could make one that was just as good (if not better) for a lot less money.

I started by looking at just about every hobby store I could think of to find a box that was suitable. I found a metric ton of balsa wood junk or ridiculously priced shadow boxes that were the right size but $30 a piece for just the wood.

I finally found a company that made the right tray at the right price. It's hard wood and made in AL.

Then it was on to felt.... there are so many choices, thicknesses, grains. It's a bit mind boggling. I found a great company in NJ that makes the felt and had them cut it for me.

Next it was time to customize it. I figured, hey my wife cuts vinyl signs for a living so I asked if she could cut custom logo's and names on the side, and my dice trays were born.

Here is what I am able to do, this tray was made for Menoth John, it's 9 inches by 9 inches with 2 inch high sides.

I mad them 9"x9" so that they have enough room to role casino dice and have a large enough tray to carry cards, dice, tokens etc between tables.

I was able to get the price down to $35 + shipping (so 39.95 total).
