Rise of the Goblin King -A cunning fantasy plog

Thanks dude. They're almost finished, just need to highlight the reds and leather. Phots to follow.

In the mean time I've started to write down my army gumf....

The Goblin Infestation of Mount BloodMaw

Mount BloodMaw is a vast, solitary peak. Though is may still pale in comparison to the heights of Kolosu, it's reputation proceeds... most others.

The Bloody Peak, as the Ogre tribes call it (due to the red hue caused by the setting sun on it's northern face) lies between Deiw and the Forest of Galahir. The great plains of the Mammoth Steppes lie to the north whilst the southern face looks out onto the plush lands of Basilea.

Few adventurers go there with purpose, since there are no treasures of renown, ruins if old or even legends tied to the place other than that of great beasts that make it their home. BloodMaw was named as such by the Basilean common folk who farm their northern flats. It's an ode to the creatures and danger therein.

The climate of The Maw is ever changing and it has been said, by those who have survived its fauna, that it experiences almost every season each day.

The northern face is blasted and barren running down onto the great planes of the Mammoth Steppes. The high winds and sand it carries has left it barren. An ideal home for fast, pack predators to descend upon the grazing cattle below.

The east face is as barren as the north. Mostly attributed to the same winds however, where the north is lose red sands with spars, hardy shrubs, upon the east face, the winds have revealed hard black volcanically formed bedrock. The east face is a harsh and sharp environment with jagged edge upon jagged edge. It's bedrock forms many vast caves that are home to huge creatures. Giants, great cave slasher and trolls... Many trolls. It is well known to the Abyssal dwarves and many a slaver has ventured there to capture a grand fighting prize, never to return.

The west face is a dense forest, bathed in sun and a breakpoint for the clouds that roll in from the north west. The flora grows wild and thick with many a bramble and some plants are even more lethal than the gigantic insects that find it the perfect homestead.

The south face, at first glance, looks timid and calm. With gentle slopes and sparse woodland. The south peak hooks over the north side in such a way that the elven kin to the west nickname it The Witches peak. Despite its calm demeanor, it conceals one of the largest infestations of goblins on the central continent. Away from the prying eyes of civilisation they have flourished and calved a Kingdom of their own.

Grimm the Punch - High King of the Four faces, Scourge of Mt BloodMaw

One goblin stands head and shoulder amongst all other, in size and cunning. As cunning and strong as any goblin maybe, this is never enough to maintain them alone... For Grimm the Punch, High King of the four Slopes is utterly psychopathic... and paranoid... and sociopathic. He hungers for nothing but power and sees betrayal everywhere.

The High King's cave-formed bastion-palace sits atop the Witches Peak in such a way that he may lookout into any of its faces should he have thoughts of an army massing against him.

To manage his paranoia, he has delegated a King to each face of the mountain so that he only truly needs to fear the direct betrayal of a chosen few.

Buhm-hawr Troll King of the East face

The first is of less concern. Buhm-hawr the Troll King of the East face is larger and smarter than any troll, giant or.... Thing! that lives there. Though this means little. He is simple and staunchly loyal. His relationship with Grimm is closer to that of father and child than king to general... That is, if your sociopathic father expects you to kill anything, anytime, anyplace.

As expected, the forces that gather from the east are hordes of troll, giants and great cave slashers with Buhm-hawr at their head. In battle, Buhm-hawr carries The Godspeaker. A huge blunderbuss of Grimm's gifting. It's both a symbol of office and a devastating close range weapon.

To keep his powder dry and weapon working, Grimm has also appointed Buhm-hawr a "royal" engineer. Gritstock is never far behind. For his skill as an engineer he has been rewarded with a life of constant fear from being eaten by his appointed master.

More to follow...
