Well, the easy life led to boredom. And boredom led to corruption. So, in a sense, yeah. But the exact nature of the Eldar Empire's labor saving technologies are a mystery.



In any case, based on the end results, the Eldar's take on labor saving tech was far more sinister than what Humanity's galactic federation went through in their last days. The Empire's technology allowed for the laziness and boredom that let corruption seep into their culture over time. The Human federation's labor saving machines (possibly through corruption) decided they wanted to declare outright war on Mankind.

The old fluff states that the Eldar used robots for everything when they were at the height of their power. The automated labor (and warmaking) lead to an idle populace that sought out more and more extreme forms of entertaining to occupy themselves. Something, something, Slaanesh is born. Eldar never advanced in such a way. Eldar technology is based entirely on magi-tech involving souls. Craftworld Eldar do not use robotics because it made them lazy and baby Slaanesh was born. Imperium doesn't use robotics because they are afraid another Men of Iron incident may happen.
But Dark Eldar do not have these fears. They are not afraid of robot uprisal or themselves getting lazy.

They are perfectly capable of making extremely effective and intelligent robotics to do the dirty work. I think putting actual soulstones into wraith-constructs didn't come about until after the Fall. If I'm not mistaken, even soulstones didn't come about until after the Fall, as a method developed to counteract Slaanesh's predilection for nomming the souls of every Eldar that died.

Eldar did have robots way back in the game. Their name just slowly evolved into wraith constructs.

Supposedly, that was the rationale behind Spirit Stones. Dunno about Wraiths. However, in the novel Angel Exterminatus, there were plenty of stones and constructs (not to mention a couple of Revenants) on the Crone World of Iydris, in the Eye of Terror. If they weren't there before/during the Fall, then the Craftworlders put them there since then.

Because Dark Eldar literally gain sustenance from doing the dirty work. It's better for them to do it themselves to gain maximum sustenance from causing misery than leaving everything to soulless, emotionless robots.
