40K Lex and wikipedia may help but its usually pretty vague.

Right now as in the 'present day' that the codex's are set in now. We know what they did during 30k, but not as much about what they're doing in 40k. There are some things like Typhus is hanging around the Cadian gate, Abadon is preparing the next crusade, Ahriman is on the hunt for the black library - stuff like that.
