Converting .Mobi and Kindle format rulebooks into printable PDF format

[I honestly have no idea what section to put this post, this one seemed as good as any.]

I have .mobi and ebook copies of several rulebooks for 40k, and I was wanting to convert them to PDF for printing, however when I use Calibre to convert the .mobi files to PDf, it ends up several hundred pages in length due to the ebook format. I've tried various settings and tweaks, but can only manage to three hundred pages of pdf at least - still far too much to print properly. I'm not trying to make the formatting exactly like the hardcover rulebooks, but at least make them available to print in 100 page or less on 8.5 x 11 paper.

I've tried converting the .mobi to docx, but even then cannot format as well, font and swapping out photos only going so far - and doing a document wide photo removal removes the statline profiles as well.

Anyone else encountered this? Any advice to give on converting the .mobi rulebooks into a reasonable number of pdf pages for print?

Nope. You're converting a mobile formatted file, you're going to end up with hundreds of pages. I would just print out a cheat sheet of what I needed for SR's and such.

I agree with Mulletdude.

Making a cheat sheet is the best way to go about it. I usually go in with a printed notepad with all of the weird special rules my units would use (like Bjorn's Warlord Trait).

I've done it.

Best way is to print 4 pages from the mobi to a page, front and back to save paper.

It still looks like garbage though.
