Grey Knights Brother Captain & Strike Squad as a CAD for AdMech Skitarii army?

Question: how does Dakka feel about adding a Grey Knights Brother Captain & Strike Squad as a CAD for AdMech/Skitarii army?
Looking to add some different color and more versatility to the AdMech/Skitarii force I am assembling. I'm new to the game and still figuring out how allies work.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

adding a Grey Knights Brother Captain & Strike Squad as a CAD for AdMech/Skitarii army?

How do I feel about that? Confused. Brother Captain & Strike Squad are not a CAD nor a detachment they are two units. I can't fit any AdMech/Skitarii units in a Brother Captain & Strike Squad.

Lets assume that you wanted to add a Grey knight CAD to your cult of mars army as allies. Ehm sure it could work. If you like it go for it. GK IC's would be great additions to the skitarii units and they have transports so why not.
Would it be really fluffy, depends feel most adepts would scream tech herecy at the sight of most "new" GK technology, but there have to be those who are less traditional. Some forge has to adapt all that xenos tech for human usage.

Detachments are created by GW and we fill them with stuff that fits into them (usually units).
Trying to create a CAD with units is like trying to create a specific type of lunch box with sandwiches.
The CAD is one specific detachment that you can find in the rulebook.
It has some force org slots that you can fit into it and some advantages of taking it.

Grey knight have their own detachment that you can find in their book that has some other advantages and has its own force org slots to fill it with.
One of the advantages of the Grey knight detachment is that it requires less troops then the CAD.

You will figure it out once you re read the part on detachments in the rulebook and when you take a look at the 2 specific detachments.

Grey Knights Brother Captain & Strike Squad as a CAD for AdMech Skitarii army?

You could do that. But it wouldn't be a CAD - it would have to be a NSF or allied detachment (in this case just take the NSF) if you wanted to include the greyknights but only use one troop.

Brother captain and a strike squad would fullfill the requirements for the NSF. Then you could use a CAD or another detachment/formation for your skitari. You will be battle brothers because all imperial forces are natural allies with each other. There is no limitation about how many different detachments/ formations you can include in your army. If you only include detachments you will be whats consdiered "battle-forged" which is what most people want to play. If you play "unbound" you can literally choose whatever units you want and play without without any restrictions to your unit composition except for total points and squad rules.

Grey Knights Brother Captain & Strike Squad as a CAD for AdMech Skitarii army?

I would highly recommend using the Nemesis Strike Force Detachment (which is found in the GK book) over the Allied Detachment or a CAD for the Grey Knights. Being able to teleport in on first turn is a great boon for them as GK's weapons tend to be shorter ranged than other armies and being able to run and shoot after teleporting in is awesome.

However I wouldn't recommend the Brother Captain and Strike Squads, as they're both kinda sub-par compared to the Librarian and Grey Knight Terminator squad. Terminator squads can take bigger advantage of the "run and shoot" ability since they get relentless built into them, allowing them to fire a Psycannon at full number of shots. The Librarian might be weaker than the Brother Captain in close combat, but the difference is marginal when you consider that the Librarian can become a Mastery Level 3 psyker for much cheaper point costs, which is a huge boon to the Grey Knights in general (considering most GKs generate warp charges, your librarian will have lots to work with).
