				<description><![CDATA[ Hello Dakka,<br /> The time has finally come: in this game I shall face the man who introduced me to the hobby. Student Vs Master....<br /> ...and the stakes, *could not* be higher. If I win, the Imperial Guard retain their humble name. if I should lose however, I must refer to them (as he does) by their dumbass Latin name....<br /> I shall not lose. I'll take any advice at this point, but please don't ask me to spam wyverns? My wallet can't take much more abuse this month....<br /> His army is fairly typical guard, heavy infantry, with a few tanks.<br /> I'm more of a tread-head I guess? 				<description><![CDATA[ If he is playing heavy foot guard, I would run your Tank commander as a vanquisher with lascannon and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span> sponsons. He should easily be able to deal with the few tanks at this level. Then Pask is not needed and could free up some points.  <br /> <br /> Then load up your eradicators for mowing down infantry. <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(51);'>HB</span> all around and if you have points heavy stubbers. <br /> <br /> The two standard battle tanks are way overkill if you know you arent facing anything more than T3 4+ <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(157);'>Sv</span>   You can save points switching to more eradicators or exterminators to take out transports if needed.  <br /> <br /> With those saved points I would throw in a few special weapons on those vets. maybe some flamers or some <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(380);'>GL</span> to keep it cheap and both of those are very good for killing fellow guard. <br /> <br /> Best of luck to you. ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Cheers Tenzilla, would you mind terribly justifying the choice of tank for the commander? I get that Pask isn't optimum, but the versatility of 20 S5 Rending shots seems superior to the single shot vanquisher? -but I could be misguided? I'm still fairly new to guard... <br /> the idea was to use the Eradicators as a spearhead, pushing the midfield. Lascannons for armoured targets, Eradicator Nova Cannons for any and all infantry. Pask to remove anything scary. -the 3 chimeras could then follow the 3 leman russ, seizing and controlling the ground swept clear by the spear head?<br /> <br /> -<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span> sponsons on a vanquisher? is range synergy not an issue there? please don't take this as overly challenging, I'm just trying to learn from more experienced players...<br /> <br /> The two <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(89);'>LRBT</span> are overkill, I'll gladly concede. -I was thinking in terms of area denial?, those large blasts will threaten infantry; and armour with ordnance?<br /> <br /> -sponsons.... the haunting ghost of my past.... I thought you were expecting a blob foot guard list. <br /> <br /> As for the vanquisher you claimed only a few tanks, at 1200 and assuming foot guard I was thinking 1-2 russes tops. <br /> <br /> If that were the case the vanquisher would be enough. for 1-2 tanks...as for the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span> sponsons yes that is a range issue...but since he is in a squad with the 2 eradicators they must maintain coherency which is 4"....So your tank commander will be closer to the thick of things. <br /> <br /> And with the split fire order your command can pop tanks while your eradicators mop up hordes of infantry. <br /> <br /> I dont like running <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>LCs</span> on my eradicators because I always want them shooting at infantry, and a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(51);'>HB</span> suits that role much better and its free. <br /> <br /> People tend to take Pask for his set warlord trait. and for a rending punisher so if you were dropping the punisher to a vanq, you could save yourself 40 pts. <br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(150);'>WYSIWYG</span> is ideal for tournaments...but for a friendly game when someone has been collecting much longer than you....they should let the sponsons slide...<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(84);'>lol</span><br /> <br /> IF you think he is leaning toward foot guard hellhounds and wyvren are also ideal. (I know you dont want to go buy more wyvren <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(84);'>lol</span> I get it)<br /> <br /> For a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>TAC</span> you need to balance your tanks and your infantry for killing infantry and for killing tanks. But if he then comes all armor you will be fighting an uphill battle or if he comes all blobbed you will be drowned in bodies. Positioning will be key. ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Sorry if it wasn't overly clear in the initial post, I don't really know what to expect, though in his most successful list I've seen: he runs maybe 3-4 Russ? but then skips on transport veterans in favour of foot platoons. (I play vs Iron Warriors chaos on a frequent basis, 'a few tanks' is less than 4 in my book xD )<br /> <br /> I'm only taking the hull lascannons with this in mind, as a back up resort should there be more armour than anticipated?<br />  <br /> I take Pask because the Rending Punisher has always performed incredibly well for me, while also removing the need for a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> or Lord Commisar, which I don't yet own transports for...
