You still need the core rulebook (or Dark Vengeance, which comes with a mini-pocket rulebook) and the relevant Codex. ]]> http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/preList/682777/8504839.page http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/preList/682777/8504839.page GMT Re:Start Collecting questions BRB just in case you have a question about something, it's not necessary by GW rules to have a BRB before playing a friendly game (as RAW 40K Games are never meant to be competitive... instead played between friends). If you can explain to your friend how the game is played from a BRB point of view, then yeah, the Start Collecting boxes should have everything else that's needed. While I haven't yet bought one of these boxes, I know they have formation sheets/rules in them to allow you to start playing with only the models in the box. That said, I'm not sure how much info they give you on the codex specific rules for the army, though. Maybe someone else will have that answer.
