Thusly, once I discovered that a certain miniatures distributor had a large stock of a certain dead game's models, I was all over that like an Ork in a military museum.

And so was born the Kinebrach Confederacy! http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Kinebrach

The basic story is that a contingent of these xenos survived their encounter with the crusading Astartes 10,000 years ago, and wandered between stars evading the clearly xenocidal and dangerous humans until they encountered the Tau Empire. By allying themselves with the upstart empire, they've benefited from technological exchange and mutual defense pacts. As a result of this conglomeration, the Kinebrach have once again mobilized for war, with newfound hope of relinquishing the galaxy of the Homo Sapien oppression.

Fluff subject to expansion and change as I brush up on my Tau background in the future. I also want to include a wider variety of cooperative Xenos species as I don't feel that the Tau model line really reflects that aspect of their story. Plus, if I ever feel the need I can throw in a Riptide or two for some heavy lifting.

These three are my characters for use as Commanders of various configurations. I intend to be able to field a whole 1850 point force of Crisis and Broadside suits and will be ordering the bulk of the force next week. The last pic is of the drones I cobbled together from bitz.

I know it's lacking in straight competitive power, but by having this many Crisis and Broadside suits I'll be flush with them for the future and can flesh out additions as they come.
