Frag Out Wargaming goes Live!

Hello All,

I just wanted to point you all in the direction of Frag Out Wargaming. We film Narrative driven 40k Campaigns in a cinematic fashion to add a bit more entertainment to the standard Battle Report.

We launched a few days ago and you can check out our website below:

fragoutwargaming.com

We also have a few trailers up for the first two Episodes in the Broranis III Campaign where the Blood Angels are facing off against the Tyranids in an attempt to save the system.

Let me know what you all think.

Thanks and I hope you enjoy,

Geoff

I certainly wish you luck, Geoff. However, I think at least some of your video content needs to come out from behind a paywall. The current biggest wargaming content producers provide both free and pay-to-view content, and I think this allows prospective customers an opportunity to see what they're purchasing before they part with their hard-earned money. Right now, I don't know why many people are just going to subscribe to your videos sight unseen.

If there's something I'm missing like a link to a couple free video batreps, please let me know! I'd love to watch them and offer feedback.

Re:Frag Out Wargaming goes Live!

Thanks for the feedback, and I totally agree with you!

I will be releasing a full Episode for free on YouTube starting this coming Tuesday.

My plan is to release the videos on the paid site on a weekly basis and a matching trailer for said paid video on YouTube. I will then release the same video between 2-3 weeks behind my website release for free on YouTube. This way everyone will get a chance to see full Episodes for free before deciding to sign up to the Website for the rest of the Episodes that have yet to be released on YouTube.

In addition, starting this Thursday and every Thursday after I will be putting out a Vlog which will go up on YouTube for free as well.

Thanks again!

Geoff

Re:Frag Out Wargaming goes Live!

Hello Xerics,

I would not really call this a Battle Report per say. There are plenty of great Battle Reports out there where two people just plop down and play a game. These are Narrative Driven Campaigns filmed in a much more cinematic fashion. There is a story line that flows from one Episode to the next much like reading a Black Library Novel, or at least that is what I am shooting for.

I will drop the first Episode on YouTube so you all can check it out and let me know what you think.

Yeah I agree. High quality picture batreps are very enjoyable to read.

Also here is the first Episode from Frag Out Wargaming, I will release Episodes for free a few weeks after they drop on the website.

Let me know what you think about the format and the story.

On YouTube someone watching your content is someone who is already making you money, and frankly pay walls and the like leave a bad taste in most people's mouths and leads them to look elsewhere, especially when just gracing your channel with constant viewership over someone else's is a huge service. I feel like best approach is more or less to open up something like a patreon after you've proven your content is worth viewing (I.E delivering solid content for a while and working up a fan base) at which point you ask for more money by giving your donaters some sort of say in future content as well as time in credits at the end of videos.

That being said, it's just my 2 cents.

All content on the site will be released for free view (come out from behind a paywall) 3 weeks after it is initially released on the website. So primarily the $2.99 per month from subscribers will go to supporting future content releases as well as early access to the Episodes. It currently takes around 30 hours to produce a single video with after effects and story. I have been toying with the idea of releasing all content for free just filling it with ads like many other content providers, even the ones using sites like Patreon, do but I personally hate ads and would like to keep the site ad free, thus the paywall.

I am toying with the idea of dropping YouTube all together and just unlocking the video pages on the website 3 weeks after they are released however right now it is a great way to get the content in front of viewers.

I really appreciate the input however and I am sure over the coming months the business will morph and shift. It is a new endeavor, that like all things will take time to grow and perfect.

Well the site was locked down completely and was not supposed to be. I have since removed the restriction on the pages it was not supposed to be affecting and now only Episode 2 of the series and the Raffles page are currently locked down to subscribers only.

Head over and check it out!
