Board display project help please

Hello and thank you for coming to take a look.

So I have not had time to play much 40k in the last little while other then some apoc games. And age of crapmar killed my fantasy off completely.

SOOO I am turning a table into a battle display piece. Whats the best way to go about this? It will be a 5by5 table in the basement with a couple warhounds wraith knights reavers phantoms ect ect.

It needs to be able to be put away, I know how to make a folding table no porblem but then how can I make it so the scenery and the models are also removable but when place are not tipsy?

all I could suggest at this point is maybe start mapping out exactly where you want your minis to go, then work out a grid, maybe a 12"X12" square one, to put 1 ft modular tiles down on, these will be what actually holds the miniatures. Or you could maybe do 18" squares, centered, leaving the left over along the table edges to become a solid border, essentially. This should help with both integrating the mini bases, and stabilizing the display it self.

Then you make your square tiles, make sure you've got the map firm of what goes where, and put down your various terrains and flock etc. Add the miniatures and you're good. You could magnetise them... but honestly if they're to be semi-permanent, I think I'd work out dowel locations. Ie - cut a dowel, glue to base, make a matching hole in the base. Then you can keep them removable but stable.

Anyway just some of my thoughts on what you could do. Really depends how you want to approach it!
