Baking Paper as light diffusion material?

Pretty much as the title states. I'm making a lightbox as per an article here on Dakka and where it says to use tracing paper as a light diffusing material, I was hoping to use baking/greaseproof paper. Will this work? Any help much appreciated

It works, but I found it gives a bit of glare. I'm no photo expert, but I use tissue paper on my home made light box and it gives it a bit of a softer lighting to my eyes.

Re:Baking Paper as light diffusion material?

@Ifurita - Thanks

@Mdlbuildr - I did hold a piece over my desk lamp and I had to admit I could see no difference in light quality. I was really hoping for a quick fix as I have baking paper on hand, but if I have to get tracing paper then that's what I'll do. Thanks for the advice.
