Necron Warrior rods in guns

Im plugging away through some Cron Warriors of late.
In the instructions it says to assemble the gun and paint first and then insert the glowing rod part.
However it says to do this with pva glue.

Can I assume this is because if I use superglue it'll "fog" the rod up ala valkyrie canopies etc.

So is it pva or bust here?
thanks!

There is another solution, too

BSI makes a superglue that does not fog up. It's SuperGold, or something like that -- my favorite glue for doing canopies and clear plastics. It also is odorless, so no stinky, and it's also thicker, which makes it easier to use for some applications.

i tend to use testor's clear glue (the one for canopies I mean) but I actually did just go ahead and use pva here, except I let it set up a good bit first, so it'd stick right the first time. Depending how many you're gluing at once, you can pretty much dab on your glue on each model and by the time you get to the end, and start in on adding the rods in, it'll be a bit thicker so the rod'll stay in better. At least that's what worked for me

You can use regular plastic model cement to do it (the kind with the needle applicator are best for this) on plastic models. Just the smallest amount is needed.

The same with superglues designed for clear parts (BSI have one, Zap do one also).

PVA will hold, but not well, and it's also not waterproof or particularly heat proof. It's only there as a suggestion so that the fumble fingered amongst gamers won't overdo the glue and fog the parts. Not because it's good at the task.
