Scratch Built / Paperhammer Thunderbolt

It's not the best quality in the world, but here's a shot of my WIP Thunderbolt. One day I'll get a proper one!

The plans are described here. They do have some issues, but still make a really nice model.

I'll share some more pictures once I attach the engines and canopy, and start painting it. Does anyone know of any 40k decals with strips of black and white check pattern? I was thinking of adding some to the wings...

Re:Scratch Built / Paperhammer Thunderbolt

Getting there! The plane itself is painted now - just finishing the base and adding a pilot and tactical bombs to go. The paint scheme is deliberately streaked and weathered, although admittedly it's also a bit messy. The plane is a temporary stand-in though, so not a big deal.

I got an Ork transfer sheet but decided the pattern would be too 'clean' in the end.

Thanks! The lascannons are from some Imperial Guard tank sponsons and the auto cannons are from the AA gun that comes with the Aegis Defence Line. Can't remember where the targeting bit on the nose is from... It was all stuff I had lying around, apart from the engines, which are from a Valkyrie.

Everything else is cardboard, plasticard and the outside of a marker pen.
