[2000] - Khorne Daemonkin - Bloodhost Detachment

This army is meant to be able to handle pretty much anything reasonably well, and generate tons of bloodtithe for summoning. Takes advantage of MSU armies in general, and MSU synergies with the daemonkin codex in particular.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bloodhost/Slaughtercult @ 664 pts
Chaos Lord w/ Kor'Lath, Sigil of Corruption
Possessed x5 w/ Rhino
Bloodletters x8 w/ Bloodreaper
Bloodletters x8 w/ Bloodreaper
Bloodletters x8 w/ Bloodreaper
Chaos Spawn x1
Chaos Spawn x1
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gorepack #1 @ 362 pts
Chaos Bikers x3 w/ Melta Bombs, Meltaguns x2 (or Flamers x2)
Chaos Bikers x3 w/ Melta Bombs, Meltaguns x2 (or Flamers x2)
Flesh Hounds x5
Flesh Hounds x5
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gorepack #2 @ 362 pts
Chaos Bikers x3 w/ Melta Bombs, Meltaguns x2 (or Flamers x2)
Chaos Bikers x3 w/ Melta Bombs, Meltaguns x2 (or Flamers x2)
Flesh Hounds x5
Flesh Hounds x5
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
War Engines @ 610 pts
Soul Grinder w/ Phlegm Bombardment
Soul Grinder w/ Phlegm Bombardment
Maulerfiend w/ Lasher Tendrils (or Magma Cutters)
Maulerfiend w/ Lasher Tendrils (or Magma Cutters)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Total Points = 1998
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Soul Grinders can handle AA and dishing out pie plates to masses of infantry. Will be able to leave them out in the open for maximum LoS while enemy is focused on killing my screening forces.

Maulerfiends for taking on MCs/Walkers, or heavily armored vehicles.

Possessed in the rhino with my Lord, running up the middle and killing whatever they can before popping Thirster axe.

Bikes on flanks behind hounds, hunting vehicles/high toughness/high armor with melta guns, or flamers for horde armies.

Fleshhounds form a screening wall on turn 1 w/ scout and run up into the enemies units asap. Will probably lose most of them, but they are a powerful screening force for the Rhino and Bikers.

Chaos Spawn run around in the back field capturing objectives.

Bloodletters deepstrike after the enemy is fully engaged with a unit or two of hounds, 2-4 squads of bikes, and a thirster. Easily summon more bloodletters or skull cannons with tithe by turn 2.

Will magnetize models so I can switch out weapons for bikers, soul grinders, and maulerfiends based on what enemy brings to the table. What is presented here is the most expensive variation. Savings will be spent towards another unit of bloodletters.

Re:[2000] - Khorne Daemonkin - Bloodhost Detachment

I think a second Gorepack is only marginally more effective than 2 Heldrakes would be. The bonuses for an Air Superiority Detachment, along with no tax units make them quite a worthwhile option.

This, along with the reduction of a single Bloodletter squad will free up points for 2 Cultist Squads to sit on objectives.

All in all, a mighty fine list!

Thanks! I was unaware of a detachment in the daemonkin codex that allowed me to take helldrakes besides Khornes Bloodstorm, which I would rarely ever want to take.

I would definitely do what you suggest if I could find that that detachment written down somewhere. Do you have a source?

Edit: Found it on my own. It appears to be a universal detachment. Thanks!!!
