				<title>Adepticon 2015 Combat Patrol Tactics Discussion</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Hey all,<br /> <br /> My <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(38);'>FLGS</span> has 500 point Combat Patrol tournaments monthly which is super exciting for me. I haven't played <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40k</span> in a long time, since 5th maybe, and I wish to jump into the scene. I have an understanding of 7th thanks to some podcasts and Dakka, but I'd like to hear about tactics, list building, etc for combat patrol as ruled by adepticon.<br /> <br /> ---<br /> <br /> Force org: <br /> 1-6 Troops, 0-1 each of Elites/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span>/Fast Attack/Heavy Support (All troops have objective secured)<br />  OR <br /> 1 unique detachment (I don't know what this means, is it like formations?)<br /> <br /> Constraints: <br /> No <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(39);'>FW</span>, anything more than two wounds is downgraded to two, same with hull points except it is three, no lords of war, special characters, I think that is it.<br /> <br /> Additions:<br /> Reserves are rolled starting turn one needing a 3+ , however they always arrive a turn after you successfully rolled.<br /> <br /> ----<br /> <br /> To start it off...<br /> <br /> So far my Ork experience says: boys before toys and swiss army missile launcher equivalents are the way to go. I think speed and objective secured will be important so I will try to do all four.<br /> As I'm selling my collection I probably will play my what I put into keepsake for Orkz unless I get my Stormtroopers before then. <br /> <br /> Knowing this I expect to run 4 trukkz with 3 shoota squads and some tankbustaz and rokkitz on everything that can take it. <br /> If I have my stormtroopers ready, it'll be a command volley squad and power sword, two minimum plasma troops squads, two taurox primes with auto cannons, and bolt pistols everywhere I can. Low model account is attributed to budget of around 100 dollars.<br /> <br /> My emphasis on speed, objectives, and utility might be a good idea but I'm not sure. All three lists have some answers for <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(95);'>MEQ</span>. What should I plan on focusing on in low point games?]]></description>

				<title>Adepticon 2015 Combat Patrol Tactics Discussion</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ I played Combat Patrol at Adepticon this year and it was the most fun I've had playing organized <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40k</span>! I've been trying to spread the word since.<br /> <br /> Full size games usually require a balance of killing power and durable objective holders. But in these tiny games it's often better to specialize one or the other. For example, my 400 point Ravenwing list was simply 8 Black Knights and a Chaplain (three units total). Most games I simply tried to table opponents. I ended up placing 5th out of 24.<br /> <br /> But you could also specialize with units to compete for objectives. Nearly all missions have four or fewer objectives, not six. So you could play one mobile and durable unit for a far objective and two lighter and slower units for your backfield. Another mobile or ranged problem solver unit might help respond to your opponent.<br /> <br /> Examples of Unique Codex Detachments: Skitarii Maniple, Ravenwing Strike Force, Nemesis Strike Force, Realspace Raiders. This was probably to accommodate factions that couldn't really field a "Modified Combined Arms Detachment" like Inquisition and Harlequins. If you can field at least one good Troop, you're better off doing that and not paying for an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span>.<br /> <br /> Don't forget psykers can't cast any power with warp charge greater than 1, so they're basically nerfed right out of the format.<br /> <br /> <br /> <span style="font-size: 9px; line-height: normal;">Automatically Appended Next Post:</span><br /> I'm not familiar with orks, but I think Tempestus would really shine in combat patrol. Take advantage of their deep strike ability and field as many units as you can, even if some of them have zero upgrades. I think they also have an Ignore Cover order? so bring one Command Squad with plasma to solve problems.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Awesome, well done in Adepticon!<br /> <br /> Using reserves, you just drop some of the list in during the late game to clean up and nab objectives?<br /> <br /> <br /> Since the new rules say that you must drop any 2/or-more wound model to 2 wounds, is it worth taking said models if you are "paying for unusable wounds"? For example, if a  Carnifex has 6, it is probably not worth it to take. What about a Warboss if it normally should have 3 wounds?]]></description>
