Disclaimer: This is my first post on DakkaDakka so if some of the formatting is off or I unwittingly break some rule (written or unwritten) let me know and I will rectify the problem as soon as I can.

So, recently I've taken to doing my best to improve on my painting. Having finally felt that I'd made progress I stripped my old paint job from Mortarion using Isopropyl Alcohol (yeah, it works) and took another run at him. Overall I am happy with the results (though tips are absolutely welcome, I am looking to keep improving after all!).
Long story short, it inspired me to start a full Death Guard project.

If anyone wants to know how I went about painting these I'd be happy to go through it but I guarantee you there are far better guides (I know because I use 'em!).
One note about the Land Raider Phobos though. You'll notice the rust on the left hand side of the model. That was actually a mistake. Way back when I primed the model for some reason some of the primer dried extremely rough. So when it came to the rub down I couldn't remove the wash from the rough patch. I initially I panicked and considered stripping the model and starting over but then remembered that I was painting Death Guard and that a rough texture would lend itself to rust. So I just sponged on various shades of brown followed by leadbelcher and there you have it, accidental rust with the texture of rust.

I will be adding to this project very soon. As it stands I am aiming for the following army list (beyond which I will expand once this first target is met):

HQ Mortation the Reaper
HQ Deathshroud Terminator Squad (3)
Dedicated Transport Land Raider Phobos
Troops Legion Veteran Tactical Squad (5; Meltagun)
Dedicated Transport Legion Rhino Armoured Carrier (Dozer Blade, Havoc Launcher)
Troops Legion Veteran Tactical Squad (5; Meltagun)
Dedicated Transport Legion Rhino Armoured Carrier (Dozer Blade, Havoc Launcher)

The rest of the 2000 pts are sunk into Questoris Knight Errants.
Since they are not technically part of the Death Guard I'll not include photos of them unless someone wants to see how they look.

The next addition will be the Veteran Tactical Squads which are very near completion - I finished basing them earlier this evening. I will make some finishing touches then photograph them.
