The Beast Arises, are you reading the series?

I fully intend to read it, but have no intention of buying the first book until the last book is finished and for sale.

I bought into the Horus Heresy series... and now with book 38 coming out and about a thousand short stories, limited edition novellas and misc other items, there is no end in sight. I didn't sign on for a neverending series, and yet that appears to be what I got.

If the Beast Arises is legitimately a 12 book series, I'll buy and read it. Until then, I'm skeptical.

The Beast Arises, are you reading the series?

I really really really tried with this series. Especially considering some of the names on there. But it was just a bad read overall. I gave it the books even, and still I would rather read the Damnation of Pythos repeatedly.

Was a cool concept but bad execution. I expected better after all these years from the Black Library and the prices they are charging now.

The Beast Arises, are you reading the series?

I love this series. The books are cheap on Amazon, $10-$13.
Book 1 was slightly boring, but book 3 is my favorite so far.
Give the series a try, it has interesting characters. I admit that I do speed-read through a lot of the battles and a few other boring parts that are side stories, but the main parts are great.

The bit about the citizens of Terra bringing the fight to the orks is very heavily addressed by a main character of the series. He completely disagrees with it and calls it madness.

Definitely worth the read!

The Beast Arises, are you reading the series?

I am loving the series so far. A lot of well done fiction in this series, with the only two books that failed to meet my expectations being The Hunt for Vulkan and I am Slaughter. The rest are very interesting reads. I particularly loved Predator, Prey and Throneworld, and those two are some of my favorite 40k books. Predator, Prey paints a very grimdark depiction of the Orks along with a unique ocean covered world, While Throneworld had a ton of great character moments and the action was very fun to follow.

Honestly, skip I am slaughter and go straight to Predator Prey, as it's pretty much the start of the series in the general sense while I am Slaughter was just a very slow build up.

The Beast Arises, are you reading the series?

Great read so far (or listen, as is the case with me, helps make the hours at work a little more tolerable). And if like me you wanted to read about the Harlequins laying down the law, well, book 5 doesn't disappoint.

I also deeply hope we haven't seen the last of that Shadowseer for this series, as her scenes with Vangorich and the Inquisition were some of the most intense writing from BL. There's a bit line in book number 6 that implies she's still a thing, so fingers crossed.
