Bloody weapons, opnions

So I started up Orks. getting back into 40k after playing on a little of 5th. Mostly using it for new kill team rules the community have been working on, but in for a penny in for a pound.

I bought Face-Rippa and used blood for the Blood god technical paint on his klaw/buzzsaw. Splattered it around on it with the whole flicking the bristles method.

The theme I picked is Deff Skullz. So lots of blue/painted faces, etc.

Is It to tacky to paint blood on all the melee weapons in the army? Or does it make a mini look better? Its kind of hard to reverse once done as its thick, but what do people think on doing it for every melee weapon, for each boy, nob, deff dread/killa kan saw, etc?

It's really up to you; they're your miniatures, paint them how you want.

I'd have nothing wrong with every model in the army having some effects. That said, I always like the saying "less is more" when it comes to effects like blood.

Personally, I don't need every model to be covered/soaked in blood (unless that is the intent).

I don't mind blood...what I find silly is models placed on other models (ie. your Ork stepping on a Space Wolf...when you're playing against Tyranids).

Blood? Go for it. Trophies on the base...never been a fan.

It's really no sillier than weathering units before you've even technically fought your first battle with them.

My son wants his stuff to be fairly pristine and "age" as he plays. IE - get more bloody, and weathered as they do more battles.

You can really do what you like and orks are always fighting so frankly blood on them makes a great deal more sense than on SM imo, SM are supposed to care for their armour etc. after all.
