List is incomplete, I intend to flesh out the platoon and maybe get another one. I also want to get one more Sentinel to complete the squadron and more Leman Russ's. Other than that, C&C welcome as to how formidable the current list is.

Your CCS is far too expensive. They really don't need a Medic or that many Officers. Plasma Pistols are also a terrible waste of points. I would keep them cheap and relatively focused on damage - 3 Plasmaguns and Carapace Armor is my favored configuration if they have a Chimera. You can alternatively drop the Carapace Armor and give them 3 Meltaguns for an even cheaper loadout.

Your Veterans should have the same special weapons within each squad (3 Meltaguns, 3 Plasmaguns, etc). Grenade Launchers are not very good unfortunately, they're mostly used by Infantry Squads on foot with Autocannons. Plasmaguns and Meltaguns are the best choices, and the first thing you should buy is a Chimera for each of these squads. Veterans without a Chimera = dead Veterans.

Sniper Rifles are very bad. I would give the PCS an Autocannon or Lascannon and leave it at that.

The Infantry Squads look okay, but the Heavy Bolter is a poor choice. Autocannons are far superior for the same amount of points. I would not give them Krak Grenades as they shouldn't be assaulting vehicles.

The Sentinels look okay, though I would give them the same weapon (generally Autocannons).

"Valkyrie Vendetta" doesn't make sense... The Valkyrie is a different unit than the Vendetta. Based on the points I assume you took a Vendetta. I don't recommend the Heavy Bolters (as they can only fire snap shots if the Lascannons have fired) but otherwise this is a good choice.

The Leman Russ Battle Tank is okay, but do not take sponsons on a tank with an Ordinance weapon as if you fire it all other weapons can only make snap shots.

The Manticore is a great choice. I like the Heavy Flamer too.

In general, don't spend too many points on unit upgrades. Having more models on the table is almost always a better choice. Some weapons (like Sniper Rifles, Grenade Launchers, and Heavy Bolters) are really poor choices when compared to others (Plasmaguns and Autocannons). You will realize this as you start playing more games.

By dropping unnecessary upgrades I was able to get the list down to 1,250 and add two Chimeras. The Chimeras add necessary mobility so your Veterans can capture objectives and get in range with their Special Weapons sooner. The Infantry Platoon forms a cheap gunline with Objective Secured. I would be reasonably comfortable taking this to a 1,250 tournament - it's not top-tier, but it is balanced and reasonably optimized. Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't the first PCS be a CCS? I was told that Veterans can't be in Platoons.

Could I have 3 Flamers in one of my Veteran squads and still do okay?

As far as a Lascannon, is it a good idea to take one or two with my Infantry?

No worries, I've been playing Astra Militarum (and 40k in general) for a very long time and enjoy helping out new players. I see what you mean with the Valkyrie/Vendetta, your original unit name makes more sense now. For all intents and purposes they are completely different units

You are correct, I simply made a typo in my post. It does need to be a CCS (which is your mandatory HQ choice).

Veterans with Flamers are okay, as long as they are in a Chimera. Another good use for Flamer models is a PCS with 4 Flamers in a Chimera. Flamers don't care if you are BS3 or BS4, so why waste the Veteran's higher ballistic skill? You could even have a PCS with 4 Flamers in your Vendetta to drop down and clear objectives late in the game.

I'd take two, if you have them. Lascannons are much better at anti-armor than Autocannons. Autocannons just fit the points of the list I wrote but Lascannons would be the better choice (especially with Bring it Down orders).

This is a tricky question, as your army really could go anywhere from here. You could even take some Allies if you want. The first thing I would get is more Leman Russ tanks - probably Exterminators, Punishers, or Executioners. Wyverns are also a really good and cheap Heavy Support choice. Just make sure you have at least 2 units with 2-3 Meltaguns for busting heavy armor (your Manticore can't do it alone), 1-2 units with access to volume AP2 (CCS and/or Veterans with Plasma, Sentinels with Plasma Cannons, Leman Russ Executioner, Leman Russ Demolisher), and some blast/flamer weapons to deal with hordes (ideally ones that ignore cover: Wyverns, PCS/Vets with Flamers, Heavy Flamers on the Chimeras).

To expand up to 2,000 I'd recommend taking a second CAD. This opens you up to additional Heavy Support slots which are needed. Astra Militarum by itself doesn't win many tournaments as the codex is rather dated, so I'd strongly consider allies if you are looking for a more competitive list. You take the Cadian Battle Group detachment. It'd look like:

Battle Group Command
Tank Commander (2-3 Leman Russ)

Battle Group Core: Emperor's Fist Armored Company formation
Tank Commander (2-3 Leman Russ)
3 Leman Russ Squadrons (3-9 Leman Russ)
1-3 Enginseers

Baneblade (any variant)

That's a legal, Battle Forged army. Tanks can hold objectives, but they do not have the Objective Secured rule so some models can take objectives from the tanks without destroying them.

I'd take a Hellhammer or a Baneblade for the large AP2 template. For the Leman Russ I'd use a healthy mix of Exterminators, Punishers, and Vanquishers.
