first there are quite a few upgrades whicha arent worthwhile and shoudl basicly never be considered, namely:
axe of khorne (much too expensive for a str 4 weapon),
Blood forged armour (even on a deamonprince which technically gets it for 20pts less as he doesnt need to buy the 3+ ArSv, even for him its not quite worth it in price)
Warp gaze on soulgrinder (take phlegm bombardment instead, soulgrinders Bs of 3 isnt enough for one shot, against vehicules the bombardment is quite good too due to it rolling 2 dice for armour penetration)
Plasma pistol (range is toop short for 15pts)
Cultist are too expensive when they are dedicated to khorne

I like a chaos lord with a juggernaught, sigil of corruption, powerfist and Axe of Ruin, he can go with the bikers or the fleshhounds and do a lot of damage before getting killed and turning into a bloodthirster.


maybe consider a combined arms detachment so you can get a heldrake or 2 for air defense.
