Imperial Knights: Renegade - Help Me Choose!

As a Space Wolves and potentially Militarum Tempestus player, I was thinking of picking this up to make a Crusader, as below - and one other knight (TBC).

With these armies in mind, (and the Crusader fulfilling fire support for both armies), what would people recommend? I am leaning towards a Knight Gallant as a) it fulfills the exact opposite role of the Crusader, b) if I then decide to get a Warden afterwards it will unlock the Tripartite Lance formation, and c) it looks cool... bear in mind it cannot be a Knight Warden as there is only one Avenger Gatling Cannon in the box, so Paladin, Errant or Gallant.

The one thing this does lock me out of is the Thermal Cannon - does anybody truly rate this weapon over the Rapid Fire Battle Cannon?

OATHSWORN DETACHMENT (470 PTS)
- Knight Crusader, Avenger Gatling Cannon, Heavy Flamer, Heavy Stubber, Rapid Fire Battle Cannon, Heavy Stubber, Stormspear Rocket Pod (470)

TRIPARTITE LANCE (1210 PTS)
- Knight Crusader, Avenger Gatling Cannon, Heavy Flamer, Heavy Stubber, Rapid Fire Battle Cannon, Heavy Stubber, Stormspear Rocket Pod (470)
- Knight Gallant, Meltagun, Reaper Chainsword, Thunderstike Gauntlet, Ironstorm Missile Pod (360)
- Knight Warden, Avenger Gatling Cannon, Heavy Flamer, Meltagun, Reaper Chainsword (380)

Throw Twin Icarus Autocannons on one to take the total to 1245, if required - thoughts Knight players?

I'm sorry I have no idea what would be a good choice. My point of vieuw is too tainted by playing unusual armies to make such an expensive choice.

Whatever looks coolest.
Ruleswise, I would probably go with the Errant. Errant is good at dealing with teq and also does well in close combat. Paladin is good at dealing with infantry, but that role is probably already covered by a lot of stuff in the rest of your army. Paladins have a place in a dedicated IK army but less so when allied to another army imo. Same goes for Gallant. It is not all that useful when allied (unless you run an assault list and have multiple Gallants) because it will usually be isolated and destroyed quickly on its own.

You do not need magnets.

I just bought the renegade box myself and built 1 arm with a gattling cannon, 1 arm with the battlecannon/melta cannon base and added a bit to the back of the melta barrel so that it stays on. I then built a fist and a chainsword.

This lets me use any and all variants.

The only issue I have is that I cannot use both knights in a single list as crusaders or gallants(I think those are the ones; the 2 guns and 2 ccw ones); if I use one of the variants in a list the other knight has to be the other variant(no problem there really). I will definitely buy another renegade box when I decide to get another knight and then I will be able to do any loadout on miltiple knights.

The arms easily separate from the torso and are reversible, the stubber/melta easily clips into place, and the carapace weapons do not need to be glued in place either.

You can still have a "badass" pose with magnets. Heck, I built my knight without magnets (so I can't swap the weapons), but the friction at the unglued joints is still sufficient to hold any pose I set it in.
