[1000] - Craftworld Eldar Unbound - A satisfactory (?) list, finally

The Craftworld Eldar army sends an advanced squad under the leadership of Eldrad makes its debut in the local game scene, where an unwelcome enemy approaches from the south. They do not have time to call forth the remainder of their army before the relentless foe makes himself known...

Baharroth 170pts

Eldrad Ulthran 195pts

Farseer 100pts

10x Striking Scorpions 170pts

5x Rangers 60pts

5x Rangers 60pts

5x Swooping Hawks 80pts

3x Vaul's Wrath Support Battery w/D-Cannons 165pts

Tactics

Striking Scorpions will be on the charge for table control, and Baharroth and the Swooping Hawks deep strike without scattering (Baharroth's rule) to pitch in.

The two squads of Rangers will move around to capture objectives and picking off enemies.

Eldrad and the Farseer will generate Warp Charges and focus on the Runes of Fate discipline and give the enemy a nasty psychic phase, and deny them when needed.

The Support Batteries are an effective measure against the tougher units the enemy might utilize.

Elsewhere, in the shadows in the depths of the Craftworld, a turret of flames shoot out of a gun, illuminating the face of a female Eldar as she puts on her terrifying mask...

[1000] - Craftworld Eldar Unbound - A satisfactory (?) list, finally

Certainly a thematic scene you are setting up here although I don't think Eldrad would be sent on a scouting expedition but I can see him leading a small elite force to grab an objective, so I was originally thinking a force similar to what we see from the'Howl of the Banshee'short story. Unfortunately Uthwe's theme dictates guardians and warlocks so I thought something like this...

Seer Council

Eldrad Ulthran 195
Farseer 100
Warlocks (5) 175
Combined Arms Detachment

Autarch (in charge of the seer's safety)	Scorpion Chainsaber, Fusion gun, Banshee mask	88
Rangers (5) 60
Rangers (5) 60
Wave Serpent	Shuriken Cannon Turret with additional underslung Shuriken Cannon	120
Nightspinners (2)	Bright Lances	200

The seer council is a staple of Eldrad's so it seems necessary to include it on a high importance missions whilst the rangers have scouted out the objectives in advance. The Nightspinners are piloted by guardians and fire nets of razor sharp nets to attack the enemy from range and out of sight, in my mind it sounds stealthy and something that would definitely be of use for an elite 'snatch and grab'operation.

Gameplay wise: Your Nightspinners are firing S8 large blasts with monofiliment to instant kill T4 and lower models and handle hordes, the Wave serpent is mobile and the rangers can infiltrate onto an objective with a decent cover save. You have great psychic potential with the seer council (12+d6 warp charges and 9 mastery levels)

Just my take on it...

Discounting the fact that I was excited to try out my Scorpions and Hawks, the list you propose seems to be terrific. I'll use it instead and let the rest of the army rest until a bigger opportunity arises for them to deploy.

By the way, what's your recommendation on psychic disciplines? What's the best and what should I avoid?
