				<description><![CDATA[ Modification from 1500 point list.  Swapping OSC for counterstrike cadre.  Just watched a batrep and these little buggers looked really fun.  It's to bad we don't have a worth while weapon on the Devilfish but I figure the counterstrike cadre is infantry focused and another 8 shots per transport should be good in support.  I have 2 squads of suits instead of my usual 1 to be anti-tank and moved the riptide into the anti-tank category as well.  I have a lot of drones in this list not just to take wounds away from the suits but because of the drone net they're actually worth while in support.  Each suit squad (commander joining the plasma squad) has VRT in case they get caught and need to get out of combat.<br /> <br /> All in all, I think I can take on a lot of different lists.  I have anti-infantry, anti-vehicle, anti-air, anti-deep strike all covered at least a little bit.  A lot of mobility and a good amount of marker support.  Can't wait to try this out! 				<description><![CDATA[ Best comment ever, "Maybe I have a weird reason to field my 3 Devilfish now"  One of the reasons why Eldar are so <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(280);'>OP</span> is because their transports are fast vehicles that can take these S6 weapons. Well with the counter strike cadre the devilfish are now fast, albeit for one turn, and while its not S6, they can put out 8 S5 shots and 4 of them don't even need line of sight.  They also jink on a 3+ and with 4 of them on the table, quite annoying...<br /> <br /> I do agree I don't see this list winning the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(300);'>LVO</span> I think it can be competitive.  The counterstrike cadre also allows you to reroll failed to hit rolls if an enemy is within 3" of an objective.  Mixed with a S6-AP3 assault 2 weapon is nice for late game objectives.  <br /> <br /> 20 marker lights should keep everyone hitting on 2+/ignore cover all game, especially when the drones can hop in and out of cover and still provide support is nice.  Lots of high <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(6);'>AP</span> weaponry and tons of mobility I think keeps it competitive. <br /> <br /> Not to mention the best part, "the killing blow" special rule should allow an auto removal of one unit per turn.<br /> <br /> The only thing I'm stuck on is what to equip the Riptide with.  I think I'm going to go back to the Heavy Burst cannon but leave the Fusion Blaster.  That way if I do need to take down a tank I can use the ripple fire rule but focus on infantry/anti-air otherwise with the Burst cannon.]]></description>

				<title>[1850] - Tau - Dawn Blade + Counterstrike Cadre</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ I've been thinking about taking a recon drone for the pathfinders.  I've been struggling to give this squad a true battlefield role since a) I have to take them and have to give them a transport per formation b) I already have 16 marker lights.  I can scout them 12" then move them 18" turn 1, or 30" total.  This might allow me a solid non scatter position since the entire retaliation cadre deep strikes turn 2.  Plus, since the unit will still be deployed inside their transport (hopefully) I can measure 6" around the hull of the devilfish giving me even more of a deployment area.  28 points is a lot but with 972 points all coming in at once and in such an advanced position I think it might be worth it...<br /> <br /> I picture the new "farsight bomb" where all these points deep strike next to each other with their +1 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(14);'>BS</span> and 16 marker supports just decimate a table edge and breachers come in and mop things up <img src="/s/i/a/6d3c0a908a3861135dfaebde91c0ecf6.gif" border="0">]]></description>
