				<title>[1500] - Space Marines</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ I am looking at doing a tournament with a retro feel. You are only allowed to use a single codex. Meaning no forgeworld, suppliments, allies, etc. Single Codex that's it! Also, only troops score and contest. On to my list. I am debating on the chapter tactics for this one mainly but any help is appreciated.<br /> <br /> Space marines<br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span><br /> Chapter Master - Bike, Artificer Armour, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(105);'>PF</span>, Auspex, Shield Eternal<br /> <br /> Troops<br /> 10 Man Tactical - Flamer, combi flamer, grav Cannon<br /> Rhino<br /> <br /> 10 Man Tactical - Plasma, combi plasma, grav Cannon<br /> Rhino<br /> <br /> 10 Man Tactical - Melta, combi melta, lascannon<br /> Rhino<br /> <br /> 3 Bikes - 2 grav guns, combi grav, melta bombs, Attack bike with multi-melta<br /> <br /> Fast Attack<br /> Storm Talon - skyhammer<br /> Drop Pod<br /> <br /> Heavy <br /> 3 Centurions - 3 grav cannon, omniscope<br /> <br /> 1498pts<br /> <br /> Basic tactics is to combat squad in rhino, leave the lascannon 5 man unit on home base objective while other rhinos hunt and capture. Grav cents drop and do their thing. Bike squad uses chapter master to tank and jet around auspex reduces cover of something in need. Break off the chapter master at some point to smash face. The main question is which chapter tactics? The army is painted Ultramarine but I get the feeling Iron Hands may be more fun.<br /> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ i'd leave the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(746);'>CM</span> on foot and put him with the Cents to suck up any AP2 wounds (which there will be).  I don't know that the high pricetag on grav cannons is worth it on tacticals (without GSF free transports anyway), who will be moving around (reducing the range and salvo shots of the grav).  Chapter master is pretty expensive with that loadout, too... 50 pts just for the shield AND a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(105);'>PF</span>... pricey.  You could probably cut a heavy weapon here or there (like the lascannon or a grav) and get yourself a libby on a bike to go with the bike dudes, prescience to twin link everything, or any of the other great new spells.  Either that or make some cuts and then get yourself a backfield <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(29);'>Dev</span> squad with some lascannons, etc, if you still want the high-<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(123);'>STR</span>, low-<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(6);'>AP</span> punching power.  Another option would be to make the bikers a command squad... give them an apothecary... use Iron Hands <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(436);'>CT</span>... then your beefy <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(746);'>CM</span> on bike will be neigh unkillable (2+/3++/3+ <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(265);'>FNP</span>).]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Looks reasonable.  <br /> <br /> The one thing that leapt out at me was the grav cannon in the same squad as the flamers.  They do not want to be shooting at the same thing.  In general, I like the concept of grav cannons in <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>tac</span> squads.  While better stationary, they can put out fire on the move, which helps tacs a lot.<br /> <br /> I would also swap the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>LC</span> out for a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span> and keep them together.  Or just take a scout squad for backfield camping.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Thanks for the tips. Since the tacs are combat squads the flamers and grav won't be shooting together. <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(746);'>CM</span> in with the cents could be a pretty cool idea actually but once he lands he isn't exactly mobile anymore. The grav tacs should be stationary by turn two once their rhino finds a place to park. The command squad crossed my mind but in the end I figured another troop unit on bikes was more important due to the fact only troops score in this tournament]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Take a Command squad with grav guns and stormshield and an  <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(7);'>apoc</span> on bikes with iron hands chapter tactics (cut from <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>tac</span> marines/flyer). Also consider swapping out shield eternal for gorgon's chain lightning claw(both a quite good for different things). Your friends will hate you but it'll work a lot better than tacs squads with flamers.]]></description>
