The next glaring issue is your lack of mobility. I would think of tackling that in 1 of 2 ways:
1) Is your 500 points the start of a bigger force? e.g. 1500/1850
If so aim towards a Battle Demi-Company and Eventually a GSF.
So Chaplain or Captain as HQ,
Then two 5 man tactical squads in "Rhinos" (but get Razorback kits and magnetise the hatch/weapon) - the Rhinos will do their job at 500 points---> but once you get to 1500/1850 and have 2 Demi Companies and an Auxillary Formation your transports are free.....so for a Mech chapter like Iron Hands you can get multiple free Razorbacks and upgrade them to las/plas for only 20 points/squad!
Your third squad could be Devastators - magnetise the weapons --> at 500 points MLaunchers are very versatile but at higher points there are much better options in my opinion! Or an Assault squad (possibly in a drop pod)

2) Your second option is to build a list that's maximally mobile and point efficient at 500 points which includes things like:
1) Librarian on a bike
2) Bike squad with Grav guns (relentless, T5, FnP)
3) Scout squad(s) with CCW in LSStorm
4) Landspeeder with TML/HB (stay at max range!)
5) Scout/Landspeeder spam.....
