So recently I've been playing this list a lot and I'm not sure what it's lacking, Skitarii generally tend to mow down my tanks somehow. Any suggestions on improvements?

Secondly, have you read some of the kuyon books. Got a tank formation with an enginseer that let you roll two fice and pick the lowest for pens and gives bs4 to the tanks. Can't take pask though. Then you could use kabes herald to issue strike and shroud first turn to get cover after firing.

Remove vets and add an emperors wrath artillery unit with a wyvern or basilisk to give some fire support.

You don't have enough vets in the list to make them worth it really. More the merrier is usually better with infantry.

Apart from that I don't know what else to add.

I was thinking of making the tanks an Armored Company detachment with Knight Commander Pask and the 5 LRs up there with an enginseer then adding in a air superiority detachment of 2 Valkyries. I was also then thinking of adding in another allied detachment with a Company Command Squad, 1 Veteran squad, and either a manticore or a hydra depending on situation.

Also I was considering maybe taking this list and adding a Skitarii detachment of a Dragoon and two Skitarii Rangers squads. People's main argument (which i agree with) against the Vanquisher is that you only get one shot with the main cannon... so, if you're lucky, that's 5 hits a game. Even with BS4, I just dont see it making its money over something like a Vendetta, with 3 TLLC shots or a HWT with Lascannons... hell, you could even buy a primaris psyker for the point difference and give them Prescience! 400pts is a lot to have tied up in those two tanks... a skyhammer annihilation force would have a field day with them. If you're serious about playing an armored list, especially with these Vanquishers, do yourself a solid and get an Aegis Defence Line... put cammo netting on the tanks and give them a solid 3+ cover save to keep them alive (they shouldn't be moving around much anyway).
