Screamer Star Players... How Do You Transport Your Spikey Horde?

I've been transporting my army partially in GW foam trays, and partially loose in a box, but I have been looking at more travel friendly options, and have recently purchased a whole pile of figure foam in various sizes.

How do you lay out your army for figure foam? Do you? and if so, how do you transport your screamers specifically? Using a 3" tray to transport them on bases seems a huge waste, but a 1" tray only holds a handful of models unless you move up to battlefoam sized trays.

If you're using other options, I am all ears.

Biggest thing I did to help make them easier to transport was magnetizing the bases. I use two 1/8" diameter disc magnets. One is glued into the divot on the bottom of the screamer body. The rounded sphere part of the flyer peg is cut in half to form a flat surface and the other is glued there. Then the base can be removed and both model and base stored somewhat flat. It's also handy when playing to keep them from breaking or snagging. This may be helpful when trying to find room in foam.

I like the satisfying "clunk" when the two get close, and I can easily remove them for transport, but they stay sturdy on the table. Did the same thing with my heralds on discs. The problem I'm running into is that the damned models are a weird width/length so you can only fit a small handful in a pluck foam tray.

I should have added that I generally just lay mine (9x screamers) down on top of each other in a 3" pluck foam pocket sized for a rhino, with a spare piece of foam between the bodies and the stands, laying on their sides and laid down to stack the bases, alternating their facing. This may not be satisfactory if you're concerned about rubbing but the fiddly bits on the models are solid and don't seem to break.

Yeah, I need to store like 40 of them, and "empty" 3" trays with foam sheets was the only solution I could come up with. This army needs *so* much stuff, and all of it is so spiky and prickly.

1st world problems I guess?
