After finishing the first three Horus Heresy novels(Horus Rising, False Gods, Galaxy in Flames) and listening to countless hours of
30k Audio Dramas, I gotta ask: Why isn't this a movie or an HBO series yet?

Out of all the 40k characters I know and love, Garviel Loken is probably the only character who really stays true to himself in a time when the crusade is on the verge of total collapse.
With the atrocity unfolding on Istvan III: Tarvitz, Loken, and Torgaddon knew that they hit the end of the road, or 'endgame' as some might call it.
Having been betrayed by their own colleagues, the only hope they truly have is to await for the Eisenstein to make its way towards Terra to warn the Emperor of the treachery Horus unleashed.

As Istvan came to a close, Horus gathered his fellow brethren who would stand loyally by his side as they make way for a full scale invasion upon Terra in hopes of stopping the Emperor from reaching godhood.
Along the way, his fellow Primarchs acquire new mutations granted by the dark gods to ease their struggle of defeating loyalists forces.

The story telling is up there with J.R.R Tolkein, H.P. Lovecraft, George R.R. Martin, and various other famous writers. (Hell, perhaps even better)
With that being said, Galaxy in Flames really hit the nail in the coffin.

The fact that Loken's fate is put into question really leaves the reader at a very uncomfortable cliffhanger.

The narrative story telling in these Horus Heresy novels are what keeps me hooked to this hobby, regardless of whether I suck at the tabletop game

I would not say no to a 30k/40k show but I think it'd be very hard to represent it right. There's been a few threads about this already.
