Because I'm taking the aspect warrior shrine as part of the pale courts i get the option to field 0-3 guardian units. Can't comment about Shadow Spectres as I've never played them. On paper, they didn't have enough for me to justify the FW purchase.

Not sure how the Corsair characters add much to the army. I know the Cloud Dancers have Outflank, which can be huge.

If you were to take Warp Hunters, I'd strongly advise taking a Skathach Wraithknight with the large template weapon.
