Idea is...

Captain goes with the Command Squad. That way he has 5 attacks on the charge AND FnP
The command squad I KNOW is very pricey but it has a lot of attacks AND with the captain and storm shield and FnP can soak up some damage
The 2 Dreadnoughts drop pod assault first turn to flame/melta whatever needs killing.
Locator beacon can be used from turn 2 to bring in other reserves (captain, terminator squad, stormtalon)

Tac squads try to camp out on objectives with t-l plasma and lascannons hopefully killing any pesky AV2 stuff.

Relic blade captain is a decent jack-of-all-trades pick. But don’t expect him to be able to deal with any serious threats. Seems a little odd to have the budget captain in a command squad tricked out to the gills. If he’s going to be tanking for the squad, you might want to invest in the shield eternal for the 3++ and EW.

For the points you are spending on the command squad, I might look into the other options. Sure, you lose FNP, but with vanguard vets or honor guard, you don’t have to pay the premium cost for all that wargear. You can have a 9 man squad of HG for the same points, with the chapter banner. Or 9 VVs, where everyone has a power weapon or better. HG all have a 2+, and the +1A banner, VV have some nice special rules and very flexible wargear.

The other option would be to ditch all the CC stuff and run them as a plasma drop squad (or grav/melta). The command squads ability to take multiple specials is quite nice, and IMHO the best place for them to shine.

(Full disclosure, I like the CC command squad, and have mine set up like that but a lot more minimalist.

Dreads should do OK on the drop. It might be worth investing in venerable dreads for the BS/WS if dropping in close with the single shot melta. Depends a lot on the CT you are using. If you have the points, upgrading to an ironclad would be nice.

I like an assault cannon on my tac termis, and only take a single chainfist. Massed powerfists should be able to deal with most things. The chainfist is like a meltabomb, just in case. If you do keep the HF, consider capheracti terminators. S&P might be a bit of a drawback, but the 4++ will help with survivability. Also recognize that while fun, if you want to trim things out to make your list more competitive, these guys are first on the chopping block.

If you are going melta, take the combi and the special. A single melta shot is not going to do anything unless you get very lucky. I might also prefer a few more troops at this point level. You have a fairly low model count here. 5 PA bodies and a razor are not hard to shoot off an objective.

I like the talon, fly mine the same way.

For the points, I feel you need more bodies. I’d either trim the command squad, or drop the terminators or one of the dreads. If you drop a dread, move one of the tac squads to a pod and bump it up to 10 men. Or swap one of the razors out for a full squad in a rhino. I might also consider re-jiggering the whole thing to a gladius. It’s just a few swaps from a demi-co, and you could probably add a 1st co TF. Have to drop the talon or make other changes though, so that’s a bit of a major change.

Honour Guard might be cool. Could bump up to Chapter Master maybe.
