I have a need for drop pods, but don't really want to spend the money or time to paint up a double set of pods, when one set will really do. 2 dread drop pods vs. 4 for example. Another thought for some detail instead of chapter badges on the door would be to stencil some numbers on the doors, or possibly a ship name.

Borrowing color schemes from the guard might be another source of inspiration. I think that is the look I will go for.

Sure I used the following colours (from a black undercoat) for the Grey from Vallejo, Dark Sea Grey as a base colour and then highlighted with Medium Sea Grey and then a black wash.

The Brass tops are Vallejo Brassy Brass with a wash of GW Agrax Earthshade and then GW Seraphim Sepia.

The blue is Vallejo Electric blue for the base colour with Glacier Blue over the top.

I then added weathering and rust.
