Army #4, which to choose?

Hello there Dakka!
Long time gamer here finally feeling the itch to try a new style of play. I've got a good collection of Dark Angels, Necrons, and a pretty large 30k Salamanders army. So to change up the next one I was thinking something fast/fragile/super aggressive, which led me to look at khorne daemonkin & militarum tempestus + inquisition. After some reading up, it seems like both could fulfill my plastic addiction and offer a new style of play(plus great models on both ends!) So I come to ask how others feel about these codices? Anyone else play em? Fought against em? Thoughts, comments, snide remarks? Thanks!

Army #4, which to choose?

I wouldn't recommend Tempestus and Inquisition as a fully-fledged army, Scions and Inquisitors are fun to use but I've found that they can't carry a game by themselves. If you want an army that's challenging but rewarding and don't want to use Allies, Harlequins and evidently the new Genestealer Cult look to be a good bet. Harlequins can be put to great use as a solo army and are pretty much the ultimate glass cannon assault force in the game, though they are every bit as difficult to use as...well...Dark Eldar.

Dark Eldar have a much tougher time of it than either of those armies at the moment but they can still be very strong if you execute your strategies to perfection. Tyranids *sort of* fit that mould, the problem is that their 'competitive' builds tend not to involve much in the way of ground forces which is a turn-off for many. Technically speaking, you could also do an Adepta Sororitas army MSU style packed with small units riding in Repressors or Immolators backed by Exorcists and Deep Striking Seraphim squads or even Scouting Dominion units. Unfortunately though, they, like Genestealer Cult, will break your wallet.

If you want an all-round fun and still rather challenging assault-oriented army to use that is all about aggression and features lots of fast moving but decidedly fragile - though many are tough for their points - units, Khorne Daemonkin are also a solid choice. You get buffs if your units die, how metal is that?

What about orks? They're definitely fast, fragile, and aggressive, plus you get all the fun of modeling/painting on the basis of "If I think it'll work, it will"

Re:Army #4, which to choose?

Thanks a ton everyone! Good stuff guys, taken a lot into consideration since I first asked. Hmmm. Caederes I will take your advice and pass over MT then, very cool, but it would be pretty hard to play with almost no options :(.
I'm not gunna lie, the deals on the Cult Mechanicus/Skitarii bundles have caught my eye as well, anyone with any experience on them?
I think its down to the wire of them or Daemonkin now
Had another question about Khorne Daemons while I'm at it; what do you figure the easiest way to fit Skarbrand in there would be? Amazing model despite the price, I feel like I would have to use him somehow...
