Sons of Capitoline, Knights of Lindis, Imperial Gargoyles, Ark Angels; HHC's Space Marines WIP/FLUFF

Have always enjoyed reading through peoples blogs and think it'd be nice way of keeping track of things. I'm new so I hope this is the right place.
I have/aim to own three space marine forces: sons of Capitoline, Kinghts of Lindis and Imperial Gargoyles.
Ill do a post for each one at the beginning and update it every time the chapters get more fluffy. Prepare for nerdfest.

SONS OF CAPITOLINE

Primarch: Sanguinius
Chapter Master: Romulus and Remus
Homeworld:	Alba Longa
Derived from: Blood Angels (and Space Wolves)
Colours: Scab Red and White
Speciality: Assault, Deep Striking
Battle Cry:
Sayings: "One who is ignorant remains unnoticed"

THE FLUFF

Origin

When two members (now known as Romulus and Remus) of the Blood Angels first company, both the youngest ever space marines to reach veteran status for their incredible acts of valour and skill, were engulfed with black rage, the Adeptus Mechanicus saw this as an opportunity to put to use a theory they had come up with. Taking them to their Forge world in the Capitoline system (The system named after the sun - Capitoline - their forgeworld being a dyson sphere around the sun). Rather than let the two extremely talented Blood Angels go to waste and die in the Death Company, they mixed their Geene Seed with that of the Space Wolves. The theory was that due to their animistic nature the Space wolf Geene Seed was better adapted to counter the ferocious nature of the Space Wolves and hence may help contain/control the black rage. While doing this the Mechanicus mixed some of they're own Geene seed into the mix.
For the first two Soldier, Romulus and Remus, they enhanced they're phenotype making them essentially second founding Primarchs. Remus had suffered from a less full-on Black rage and hence the Blood Angel side of his geene seed was enhanced more; this gave him wings much like Sanguinius. Romulus had more intense Black rage and hence is more Wolf in nature, giving him enhanced senses, longer canines, and yellow eyes. They are both originally Blood Angels and hence have a very long lifespan.

Their Geene Seed was then used to amend many of the other space marines locked in 'The tower of the Lost' on Baal. The general Geene Seed allows these marines to control their rage and results in a very ferocious and melee orientated force that can switch on their more violent side at will. Do to the Mechanicus in their Geene seed and the advice of the mechanicus to keep themselves occupied to ease the controlling of the rage, these marines are very well educated and intellectually curious regarding Science and Engineering (only subkects worth doing), and hence all marines are comfortable in basic engineering, often using this in seige warfare and during campaigns in other worlds (building bridges and linking settlements to supplies). This and the lack of dependence felt to the emperor, makes them an incredibly free thinking chapter of marines, however are often visited by the Ordo Hereticus Inquisitors.
In training all marines go through the Basic Engineering Program, selected few go onto study at the Imperial College to become Tactical engineers (Engineering to be used mostly on the battlefield ect. with tactics combined) and often act as advisers to squad leaders. Some of these go on to be mentored by the mechannicus, shadowing them around becoming Imperial engineers.
Most marines maintain their studies and hence the records are kept immaculate. Often being the smaller force, the Sons of Capitoline rely on their CQB/gorilla tactics and their skill in close combat and speed to win, hence often lending their ear to the squad tactical engineer.

When the gene is mixed with that of the space wolves the end marine can be placed on a spectrum from Wolf to Blood Angel. The marines closer to the wolf side are often more violent and practical, whilst the Blood angels are more tactical and academic. When squad commanders are chosen, marines will tend to flock to those commanders closer to them on the spectrum ending with some more wolf squads and some more Blood Angels.

History

During the divisions between the blood angels and the Sons of Capitoline on Baal, SoC marines (often more wolf in character) would engage in scuffles with other Blood Angels.
When the enraged Sanguinary Guard were freed from rage, they were allowed to keep their armour however due to how they were regarded by the BA (as impure fallen angels) the wings on their armour were snapped off. In retaliation the SoC sanguinary guard painted their armour white to symbolise their purity as a kick in the teeth to the BA.
They left to start their own settlement and went to a long since lost system, the one where Capitoline was (where the Adeptus Mechanicus fused their geene seed, essentially their birthplace) on a planet known as Alba Longa.

Here they they detected an unknown small Astartes vessel land on one of the planets (Lindisfarne, an old Imperial Fists settlement). They went over to investigate and discovered the Knights of Lindis chapter.
Due to the engineering background of The Sons of Capitoline, they were able to repair the terminator armour and generally appease and befriend this chapter. The two chapters work well together; the SoC complimenting the hulks of the terminators with their speed and agility.

Organisation

The whole chapter is divided into Legions. Each legion has a Legatus legionis and is divided into Cohorts (100 men groups) with usually 10/20 individual decades within, commanded by a Praefectus Castrorum (or Prefect of the camp). Each Decade (squad) has a Decurion. The cohorts are numbered as they are created as with the decades and hence it is normal that the lower numbered decades and cohorts are usually the most seasoned marines. The first decade ( the primus pilus) will be double the size of other cohorts and be named the eagle cohort.

Markings:
The Legion is usually obvious due to armour and general scheme whereas the Cohort and decade is signified by two roman digit numbers on the right shoulder pad.
Sometimes coghorts may have specific colours or armour add-ons especially the older ones (lower order) due to their origonal operations when the chapter was young or where they operate. An example is the Third cohort (the Bull Cohort) which largely operates in colder climates making its name for itself in the Sabien wars
Each cohort may also have its own insignia and informal name based on stories and myths. Again this is most common in the lower order cohorts.
----

WOLF COHORT
<strike>
During the divisions between the blood angels and the Sons of Capitoline on Baal, SoC marines (often more wolf in character) would engage in scuffles with other Blood Angels. Romulus realised that these marines had potential to be very useful for the chapter. Though officially not recognised he set up the Wolf Legion or the Germani Corp: hand picked hand to hand experts (often the wolf characters taken from fights) were chosen. This was also partially set up to counter what the Sanguinary Guard were to Remus (they were naturally more loyal to him due to their similar place on the spectrum).
These are essentially the thugs of the SoC. They act entirely independent from the rest of the force.
Often used to scout ahead, roughen up targets and for assassinations, the wolf Legion (split into informal ‘Wolf packs’) often screen ahead pillaging and ransacking areas. Though this is not allowed, the SoC does not recognise this force and often ignores/covers these events up. They can infiltrate locations and survive years in an environment no matter the conditions remaining undetected. </strike>

EAGLE COHORT

This is essentially the Sanguinary guard branch of the SoC. Sanguinary Guard members from the Blood angels were also converted into SoC. They were allowed to keep their sacred armour however due to being regarded as fallen angels, their wings were snapped off and armour returned. This was obviously a great offence and the response was to paint the armour white to symbolise their purity (and because I can't paint NMM and hope white will be easier, wings were also a pain in the arse). Their numbers are not great enough to warrant a full Legion, and as such they form the elite First Cohort of the First Legion. Their numbers in this Cohort are twice that of a normal cohort. with an increasing number of Marines that meat their criteria, an eagle cohort of each legion has been established as their First cohort.

PRAETORIANS

This is another section of the army with a slightly more specialised and versatile purpose. the organisation follows that of the main army in the Legion and Cohort style.

The Praetorian Gaurd are Elite hand picked marines taken from all over the force who fulfil elite roles. Often used in battle and outside these are the most versatile soldiers.

The jump troops of the Praetorian Guard, the Speculatores (note, not the Equites Singulares which was a local force formed by the natives gaurding local senators) are tasked with protecting the chapter masters in battle acting as the current Honour Guard to Romulus and Remus, and are selected from the praetorian gaurd after many years of service. Though these men form a new unit under the command of the centurio speculatorum they remain in their respective cohorts and decades.
Aside from Praetorian prefect and the Signifer there are no special positions within the gaurd compared to other legions.
Often fulfilling roles of Bodyguards, Policing, special operations and warfare, these soldiers are very versatile and valued by the chapter matsers, however are often viewed as ceremonial glammerised units due to their more interior roles and their somewhat traditional armour. Often within cities, these units were formal clothes rather than their power armour to not alienate the native population.

GENERAL SPACE MARINE LIFE

Unlike most space marines the life of a member of the sosn of capitoline would be much more civilian. The marines would only spend about half their day in armour when in base. They were still very much separated from civilians. They would not spend much if any time worshipping the emporoer due to their mechanicus upbringni.
High rankning space marines would often have civillian roles to filll some of the time such as adminatsration. Often these marines and their preator bodygaurd would go without their armour whilst the bodygaurd units tried to stay inconspicuous.

Much of the time the marines would spend with the adeptus mechanicus either preforming gaurding duties or being educated. Frequently the marines would also be inolved in infustrcuture developments.
Marines were kept busy to distract from their origonal red thrist as per instructions from the mechnicus. Leaders would occasionally undertake projects carried out by those below them. Dedicated fighting units, such as the eagle Legion and wolf packs, would normally undertake combat training and survival tactics.

GENERAL SPACE MARINE TACTICS

The general formation of the SoC consisted of the triplex axies. This consisted of three rows, the front (hestati) with assault squads (often without jump packs as those units would gaurd the flanks), the second (principes) with tactical marines, and the back with more experienced triari. Equites would often take up the flanks. Often the marines of the second line (principes), would opt/be told to use their assault gear and act as assault marines too.

This would be later rejected in favour of a larger Manipular system based ound the heavy infantry.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Emblem: should be attached at the bottom

Colour skeme: Scab red everywhere, white details, black central crest and emblem on pads

If you hadn't noticed this is somewhat roman inspired.

More details to be edited in later...

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Sabien Wars

Upon arrival to the system, it became apparent of the presence of a lesser developed group of humans present on some of the worlds. It is thought that the Mechanicus had been experimenting/observing them from their close forgeworld of Capitoline. As a result these humans had undergone a greater rate constant of mutation and hence greater rate of evolution. Due to the Cold, snowy prevalent climate of the worlds in the system the humans had become the ab-humans - later classified as Sabiens, after their main presence being on the planet of Sabine - and featured a paler and sometimes dotted skin, stunted extremities (shorter fingers, necks, toes) and a greater capacity for bodily hair.

When the SoC moved in bringing a population of humans with them to colonise the system, they chose to settle in the world of Alba Longa, with the lowest presence of Sabiens, and conduct research and outreach programs into/for the Sabiens on the other worlds. After this was done, it was deemed they were safe and no danger, and that they would live together however the SoC would not be able to claim Sabine (the Sabiens didn't care much for territories more for their sacred land in Sabine hence letting other planets got to the Soc). A few efforts to educate some Sabiens and bring them into the civilisation at Alba Longa were conducted however with varied results.

The First Sabien War

As the human population rapidly grew, the Sabiens in Sabine deemed their presence to be a threat. They encouraged the other Sabiens to rebel forming a Sabien underground. After much civil unrest and friction between the groups a Sabien Front opened up in Sabine. The SoC didn't really deem this much of a threat and were happy to leave them be in Sabine fearing driving more of a wedge between the two populations. The Sabien front then starting pressing into other closer colonised worlds, attempting to occupy cities and attack humans. This would mark the start of the First Sabien War.
Romulus and Remus dispatched a Task force to the Sabien stronghold outside of Sabine, Comitium, and one to garrison and resist Sabiens in the other attacked Worlds. Romulus led the task force going to Comitium, along with the Praetorian Gaurd, two more Preatorian squads and most of the formed squads hailing from the First Cohort (squads I/I, I/II, I/IV, I/V, I/VIIII, I/IX, I/X) and decades of the third Cohort (decades III/I, III/II, III/III, III/IV), along with the First cohort commander, Aurelius Maximums Marcom, third cohort Commander, and the Praetorian Prefect, Lucius Seius Strabo, where they easily overcame the Sabiens killing the leader of the Sabien Front, Titus. Remus led the garrisoning of the other worlds travelling with the Eagle Legion and placing legionaries from II/I, II/II, II/V, II/IIX, IV/I, IV/III, IV/VI, along with the Master of the (Eagle) Legion, Gaius Marius, leaving the second and third Centurions to continue their recruitment and training. These forces quickly subdued any aggressors and Remus and Romulus rejoined and marched to Sapine to offer the Sabien Front an unconditional surrender, conditions being a military presence of a century to be posted on the planet.
An unknown number of Wolf packs of the newly formed Wolf Legion would also be posted somewhere on the planet too, staying undercover yet able to take action if something similar were to happen/assassinations needed to take place. This was the most bloody Sapien war containing by far the largest number of civilian casualties.
Praetor units were also positioned on the occupied planets near Sabine fulfilling the policing role. These units would later make up the parallel first 'denunciator' century (or DNNR centuries).

Notable events - First Sabien War

When the Sabien Front attacked Comodium, at the walled citadel, Curia Hostilia - a place where many of the educated and human exposed Sapiens relocated to, many of these Sapiens brought up amongst the humans came out of the citadel to try to break up the fight and promote the peace between the two populations as there was once before. This was coined 'the Intervention of the Sabien Mongrols'. Unfortunately they were slaughtered by the Sabien Front and was an event that later shaped the conditions of surrender and later ideology of the partnership.

It was during this Campaign when Romulus realised the necessity for his own 'Guard' to counter the Sanguinary guard and for more guerrilla specialised units, forming the Wolf Legion containing one Guard wolf pack. The guard unit would later be changed to an entirely unofficial, better equipped and trained HellHound pack. the Wolf Legion would remain, receiving more attention (in training with the Space Wolves, more equipment - also often subsidised by the Space Wolves) as the necessity for hard battle units and guerrilla units became more obvious.

The Second Sabien War

After not so long, the some Sabiens calling themselves the Second Sabien front captured and held some humans from/in the forum by the temple at Feronia on the planet [i]Etruria. The response was quick with the local garrison sending only two praetorian squads to go and relieve the hostages. All the hostage takers were killed harming none of the civilians. this catalysed some of the underground Sabien groups' rebellious nature sparking a short lived force. They gathered and were met this time in Sapine where the forces clashed at the forest, Malitiosa. The SoC forces were far superior despite the attempts to balance the conflict out with knowledge of surroundings. The SoC then continued to dismantle the local militarisation of the villages and surrounding areas.

This led to greater freedoms being granted to the Wolf Packs posted in Sabine.
After this many assassinations were carried out constantly dismantling the formation and activity of any anti-colonial Sabien groups.

The Third Sabien War

When Inquisitor Lord Machiavelli[i/] was assigned to the Capitoline sector (beginning the time colloquially referred to as the Capitoliyne Inquisition), the inquisitor thought it necessary to weaken existing chapters present in the sector. Seeing as the SoC had become so powerful and well equipped the inquisitor saw them as a potential threat, exacerbated by his devious lusts. Having not amassed many space marines as his personal bodyguard and not being able to draft in a large army inconspicuously, the inquisitor in-sighted violence between the Sabiens and the SoC. Equipping them with standard Imperial armament; lasguns, armour and tanks with crudely painted over symbols, this assault was to be the most deadly however the SoC were prepared and the situation controlled. This was the third Sabien war. The Wolf packs and Preator were effective in containing the terrorist cells which were for the most part ineffective.

However during this time ...................

'The Fourth Sabien War'

When Inquisitor Lord Machiavelli had amassed his bodyguard of space marines (which then [i]technically[i/] became a new chapter) he began launching his attack on Lindisfarne, using conscripts mainly from Sabien as his imperial guard making up a large chunk of the army (many of the original guard were from elsewhere however to maintain numbers despite casualties many locals were drafted in).

Unbeknown to the Inquisitor that the SoC were aware of this, the chapter launched an attack against the weakly defended rear line. The seige came to a halt very quickly however this would not be the last. The Inquisitor retreated to his battlecruiser and reassessed the situation. Both sides knowing that neither could request aid (the knights of Lidnis and SoC for the sake of containing the chapters' secrets and the Inquisitor for the clear breach of protocol) a larger offensive was launched onto the planet and among the sector.

Hence the loose definition of the Fourth Sabien War. Though this conflict never fully concluded as th einquisitor remained local to the sector however did tend to not engage the chapter, the Sabines were considerably better diffused through society. they would later become part of the Chapter as Auxilary units acting as scouts as they were not able to have the gene seed implanted into them due to their mutations.

By this time the organsiation of the Chapter was fully consolidated and the Chpater was expanding. Finally the chpater had control over a full sector (Consul Julius)

The appearance of (friendly Tau) meant that longer range and longer campaigns ensuued meaning the sector was left to the consuls during Romulus and Remuses campaigns.

Augustus was the first Consul to be left alone fully. his reign was very successful.
At the time his term was up a power vacume and confusion led to the election of Nero. Nero corrupted by chaos and was later declared an enemy to the state
After this choas a senator from outside the sector who had amssed a large militia had managed to gain the votes by muscling out the other oposition. He was unpopular and unseuccessful and was later assasinated by the praetor.
this would be the first time a memeber of the prateor took the role of consul as they were not overly too keen to abuse their positions of power. The first was hadrian. He was very successfull consildating the satte and putting in measures to stop what had happen from repeating. A string of 5 very successful memebers of the praeor took consul until Marcus Aurelius.
The next consul elected was commodus, a young neglected member of the praetor. He was nt very successfull and became jealous abusing his powerful posisiton.
Romulus and Remus returned and when they heard of the attrociaties he had commit, they assasinated the consul in his bath. They then took the role as leader once more.

They ad doen this to conseal quite the unhappiness of the senate re the consul as if it had gotten out it would have hurt the preator.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Hostory of Organisation (spell check)

1
With the initial founding of the chapter, the layout was very loose. The chapter was made of standard marines fulfilling the role of tactical marines, devastators, assault squads etc. and the sanguary gaurd who un-officially accted as the guard of Romulus and Remus.
This layout was never meant to last long and was to aid in tthe speedy creation of the chapter.

2
Later, Romulus and Remus along with the help of [i]Gaius Marius[i/] established the Legion system and put in place the preator.
The stadard mariens were put into the Primus Legion which was divided into Centuries (groups of 100 marines split into 10-20 squads). At the time of the first Sabien War the first century was full with tthe second and third being in the recruiting process but having ammassed half the numeber each. Now there exists 8 centuries in the Primus Legion.

The Sanguary Gaurd wree placed into the Eagle Legion, headed by Gaius MArius. This was also split into cnenturies (always groups of 100 marines) though only the first is occupied.

The preator were established being selected veteran marines from the Primus Legion with the objective of gaurding Romulus and Remus (as Remus had a slightly closer link the the Sanguinary gaurd than Romulus due to his geneseed) and also as elite veteran units spearheading attcks and aspiring morale. These units were well equipped and had huge success throughout the Sabien campaigns.

3
It was during this Sabien war wehen Romulus realised the need for a simillar unit to the Sanguary gaurd/eagle Legion but for his side; the wolf side. This was when the Wolf Legion was established containing select specifically wolf gene seeded thuglike/brutish marines and put them into this elite scouting/recon/infiltration unit. Though officially organised like the other Legion, the wolf Legion are very independant and have very loose sqaud ties and regulation regarding them.
During this period, after admiring the eagle Legion's action in the battle for Sapine and un officially created the hellhound teams. Much alike the Sanguary gaurd units, specialists from the wolf Legion recieved specialist trainign and equipment and acted as an incredibly elite fighting force. The Hellhound teams however maintained their recon and scouting backround alongside being close to Romulus during open battle.
It was the Wolf Legion that were later stationed in Sapine.

4
At the end of the first Sabine war, the preator were formalised. The preator became a Legion of marines that had proved themselves both in battle and intellectually. The Legion has the same organisations as the others. The Preatorian gaurdbecame a thing, ta squard of the current serving body gaurd of Romulus and Remus.

Along witht the development of the societies in Capitoline and in order to prevent another civil war from statrting a senate was introduced. This howed representatives from many parts of the sector to govern the sctors. Many high rankningi space marines were given sectors of control, making the SoC effectively able to discretely run the sector, though also able to let it be run by the populus, when not in crisis (when many of the marine senators take action). Early succesfful centurians and members of the preator were given sectors to be in control of.

A triari was also formed from the more experienced member of the cohorts. These men would take up positions at the back of the line.

Notable mariens that gained senate psoitions were Gaius MArius and the most noticable for the numebr of seats in senate held was Lucios Seius Strabo, the preatorian prefect. The later later went to maintain a very succesful political carerr. Members of the Preatorian gaurd were also made senators and put into the elite rulign [i]equestrian[i/] class of the imperial govermend planets.

Aside forom the rulign equestrial class there were to others in SoC society. All marines were part of the patrician, the middle class, whilst the majority pf the civilians were plebians. Movement between classes was commonplaec and many of the equitorial class were required to be elected by those in the plebian system.
Centurians were often put into the equestrian rank (such as Aurelius MAximus MArcom) howveer many chose to remain in thre colours of their centry.
Triari were a subset of the patrician class, the centruions finest soldier and brothers. they acted as a gaurd and had more political and rank significance than others in the patrician class.

Members of the preator
members in control of land
equites

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Characters

Romulus -

Remus -

Eqitorial Class

Aurelius Maximus Marcom - A simple griddled Blood Angels sergeant was one of the more senior and battle hardened and tested of the first batches of converted marines. He came out highest in the tactica testing and hence was appointed as commander of the first chunk of the army. After the reforms by Giaus, he was appointed the head of the First Century, at the time the only century. Being the first century they were posted to the closest sectors, giving him quite significance in politics (he is also a meber of the equestrian class) and general importance. He also operates in the coldest areas hence him and the cenrtury often equip better for colder weather. Often wears wolf items due to being slightly wolf in character.

[i]Lucious Seius Starbo[i/] - A cunning, loyal and wise space marine. Used to be one of the Flesh Tearers veterans sergeant. He was part of the resisting force in the Stromark Civil war. This is one of the reasons he was appointed so quickly as prefect, for his experience of civil wars (sabien war)
He was the first Praetorian prefect. Soon Strabo widened his field becoming more political and becoming the Governor of the South eastern sectors (becoming a member of the senate holding significant power not just from military influence, but also by being well respected), whilst maintaining his praetorian prefect role along with _______.

[i]Gaius Marius[i/] - An old sanguinary guard sergeant from the Angels Encarmine. Very well skilled. Became very influential holding the position of consul in the senate 7 times. One of the first converted marines he also helped Romulus and Remus in their organisation being one of the highest ranking marines carrying out the [i]Marius Reforms. He came up with the idea of the Legions.

Triari

Patricians

Re:Sons of Capitoline, Knights of Lindis, Imperial Gargoyles; HHC's Space Marines

So continuing with my nerd fest brought about through time spent revising and on my lifeguard chair:

THE KNIGHTS OF LINDIS

Primarch: Rogal Dorn
Chapter Master: Arcturus
Homeworld:	Terra, formerly Inwit
Fortress Monastery: Lindisfarne Monestary, formerly Phalanx
Derived from: Imperial Fists
Colours:	Black, white (red)/(blue & yellow) tbc
Speciality: Seige, terminator, Assault
Battle Cry: "Primarch-Progenitor, to your glory and the glory of him on earth" and "The emperor wills it"

THE FLUFF

Origin

Part of the First Founding chapter, The Imperial Fists, a Lunar class Battleship, The Galfridian, were travelling through the warp when they were ejected, next to a super-massive black hole. Here they collided with an orbiting comet ripping the ship in two. The marines were spewed into orbit around the black hole. Due to the gravitational time dilation effect, what seemed like two years floating in space took the time of 700 years.
Only the space marines in terminator armour could survive and were preserved by their suits life support system. The other marines perished in space. After the two years the warp closed up sucking back the marines and leaving them in space 700 years later. A passing Dark Angels Cruiser came through and picked up the terminators, having located them on their distress signals built into the armour. Here they received much help from the Dark Angels with regard to their understanding of the situation and for future progression.

The marines were able to keep a small transport vessel. They went to an old fortress monetary from their time on the planet Indiscipline. Every year they would go on a crusade to purge local xenos in the local system, Optically looking for fragments of their confused history. These crusades would last the good part of the year. Since the accident they have virtually no records of their history and formed a small chapter instead of joining the IP. Due to having shared experiences the chapter is kept very small engaging with only small numbers of xenos. They also keep themselves secret as a result of the small size.

Equipment

The Knights of Lindis are all terminators wielding power swords, maces and shields. They have black armour with yellow and blue accents. It is very rare for this chapter to use any firearms.

Organisation

due to their size the chapter is simply comprised of a group of terminators with an elected 'king' who makes final decisions. Additionally all the members of the chapter sit on a round table at the centre of the monetary and transport vessel where each marine is valued equally.

---

Emblem: An even sided tapered/flanged cross (attached)

Colour scheme: Black with red or Blue+yellow tbc

Its a bit medieval themed (duh) going of images of the black Templar.

<strike>THE IMPERIAL GARGOYLES

Primarch: None (no specific - mix of chapters)
Chapter Master/Leader: Marine 7 / Inquisitor Lord Machiavelli
Homeworld:	Unknown
Fortress Monastery: Sant'Andrea, a mobile fortress monastery
Derived from: Mix
Colours:	Grey
Speciality: Stealth, Apocalyptic warfare
Battle Cry: "Damn you heretic"

THE FLUFF

Origin

Inquisitor Lord Machiavelli was consigned to the system of Capitoline, due to the appearance of the new, Adeptus Mechanicus influenced, free thinking Sons of Capitoline for signs of heresy and the realisation of the Mechnicus ForgeWorld of Capitoline.
As the name suggests, Lord Machiavelli is very corrupt and ambitious and in order to boost his power he employed the use of astartes, in previous campaigns he had found the marines of Ultramar much more effective than the imperial guard.
So before going to this system he ordered the capture and abduction of 20 Adeptus Astartes using his inquisitorial role to insure no questions were asked. Here he had his personal imperial guard torture genetically mutate the astartes and cause for them to obey his every command. To finish this job, he ‘freed’ the space marines and told them to turn on their capturers locking them in the same room, ensuring no Imperial Guard were left to tell the tale.
He now has a force of Astartes. To hide their disfigured faces and secure their anonymity they were given helmets similar to death mask of the sanguinary guard or maccabin Jannissaries. Due to the size of the force these Astartes had to use gorilla tactics and stealth. Their grey armour allowed them to look like snow in the sun and looked dark in the night making it ideal for operation in the Capitoline system (snowy).

The marines are the muscle men of this Lord Machiavelli. Due to the corrupt nature of this inquisitor, he often commands them to kill other Astartes in order to gain greater weapons and machinery, claiming that they're heretics. Often the inquisitor will lull a chapter into false sense of security and then commands his astates to stab them at night. Often these Astartes will carry special knifes designed to pierce power armour. They often take hostages to turn them into more Astartes for the inquisitor.
These Astartes rarely take off their helmets and armour and often look the same despite rank.

After a while the Inquisitorial guard became too big to be hidden as the bodyguard of Lord Machiavelli. It was then made into a fully fledged chapter with just one commander. This chapter was very small and was made of three Tribunals:
> The Tribunal Peditum is the infantry section made up of a small number of just tactical squads and a chapter master. The inquisitor also makes use of his ability to assign imperial guard to himself hence this Tribunal often contains many imperial guards (uniform ect supplied by Lord Machiavelli so they are pretty much his) who are often controlled by the space marine sand used as fodder.
> The Tribunal Armis is the armoured section. Here they store all of the armoured vehicles, and the drivers. This is very heavily armoured, making use of all armoured units taken from 'corrupted' chapters or IG units. Contains many Tanks.
> The Tribunal Corpus Custodes are not technically but informally the guard of the inquisition. They spend all their time around the inquisitors. This is full of small squads of sword wielding marines. These astartes are some of the most elite and obedient astartes and most hark back to the days when there were under 50 marines in the force. these marines are very much willing to lay down their lives for there masters.

Upon this reformation the tribunal peditum exchanged their robes and deathmasks for more common space marine power armour and gave them a newer duller grey colour. The tribunal custodes maintained their robes and dyed them red, their aged armour turning beige/ivory. Due to the tortuous upbringing of the marines they are often found with bio mechanical limbs.

Due to the wealth and power of the inquisitor, the chapter has access to many things.

Though the chapter is led by its Chapter Master it is obvious the power lies with Lord Machiavelli.
Due to the power of Lord Machiavelli, it was easy to secure positions of office for his family memebers (the Medici, a twisted incestuous family with many deformed members and harking back to the days of ...).
The Family tend to gather around the local area for which the Capitoline system is offset. Their territory is fairly secure but as been recently targeted by the Meiji Tau Enclave.

Equipment

The Marines have very basic weapons and often carry special knifes. They have grey armour and where cloaks and death mask-esque helmets.

Organisation

This chapter was very small and was made of three Tribunals:
> The Tribunal Peditum is the infantry section made up of a small number of just tactical squads and a chapter master.
Re:Sons of Capitoline, Knights of Lindis, Imperial Gargoyles; HHC's Space Marines

I started collecting wahammer back in 2008 when every kid that age was doing it. I kind of went out of it but due to exams and stuff have found myself back in it. I never thought of playing seriously though enjoyed playing against my brother with a very loose sense of the rules. As a result I have a whole bunch of awfully painted and glued SM (mix of {made up and prototype} chapters namely BA and SW; lots of incomplete bits), Tau (mainly my brother's), some Orks. So recently I have taken the task of finding and repairing any salvageable marines to make up the army. Recently I also made my first purchase, some Deathwing knights (see next post for why), and more recently a bunch of veterans of kinds.
So plans for what the different units should look like:

SONS OF CAPITOLINE:

Normal troops
Scab red such colour with black chest crest and white trims with black wolf emblem on shoulder pad. On the right shoulder pad two roman numerals will denote the century and squad with century on top of the squad number in roman numerals.
These units will be made of any normal space marines. As of yet there will be some squads with slightly more wolf details, these the squads that are more wolf in character and have gathered around a specific space marine sergeant that is more align to them. Most squads will likely be mostly bolters with at least one rocket launcher. More wolf-like squads will be less uniform. I haven't decided whether I will use veteran models for the sergeants for the squads.
Also seeing as this army is based off Romans, I want to get standard bearers for practically every squad.

Praetor
in order to keep up with Romulus and Remus, they ill have to be armed with jump packs (at least the praetorian guard) and hence I turned to some scraps of my assault squad, though missing quite a few bits. I managed to get together an apothecary (using bits off a DA Deathwing set*) and imperial engineer using random bits and a combi-weapon form my old space marine captain.
After a while of fanboying over the white dwarfs I had purchased back in 2008, I realised how much of a fan I was about those old metal Vanguard Vet models (below). I realised that they would be perfect for the role due to the ornaments etc. So I got a squad of them (they are just my favourite set of models, tbf I love any of the older veteran squads) to fill the honour guard role. A squad of the newer plastic vanguard vets mixed with bits off a command squad (DA command squad**) would also make for the apothecary, champion, standard bearer and chief engineer, I really want a mechanicus-esque marine (see 2nd below - in red) like the ones on the old BA command squads.
For the colours, I think a red and white (more white than last time) would work. I did want to get some purple to mimic the portrayal of Roman Praetorians (3rd below) but I can't really justify having a whole new colour set seeing as I already have the sanguinary guard, without it looking really disjointed. A bit like the 'sons of Orar' (4th below) or with more gold like the Red Templars (5th).

Wolf Cohort
Originally I wanted these guys to be black clad guys in capes in MKIV armour with the roman/greek type helmet attachment (below). I'm still wanted the capes but realise that I'll have to compromise on stance. I think now that the same colours as the main bulk of the marines but with a darker wash and more customised and less regulated armour seeing as these guys are fairly independent and will want to adapt their own armour for longer operations to make them more useful. They're also meant to be quite stealthy and able to adapt their armour and based on mostly snowy terrains, so darker less saturated colours. Since they're mostly coming from the more wolfy side of the spectrum and have received Space Wolf training and access to some of they're armour they may use bits off space wolf kits.
Originally I wanted them to have a shield and chain sword. I'm still not so sure, i think that would be a good plan but other wolf pack weapons could be used. Due to the lack of jump packs and CQB orientation (of the chapter) they kind of need the shields.
Colours as said will be mostly the same just darker and less exaggerated.

Sanguary Gaurd
Based off the their story (^^^{posts}) their armour is meant to be white. I was really keen on these squads when I was younger and got too whole sets of them. So I can use them but I have become a lot less keen on them. I just don't rate their legs and modelling versatility. I haven't been able to find a cool looking white painted one either.
They should mostly be armoured with swords, heros/sergeant with power fists maybe.
White armour.

Romulus and Remus
For my leaders, I don't really like having very dynamic poses (fighting poses). Since I also really like all of those older veteran models and considering that they should somewhat resemble the armour of the praetor, using veterans as the base of them would be a good idea.
Originally I wanted to emphasis the 'primarch' aspect of them by using legs off a 'eternal storm cast' model, making them taller and also giving them a more interesting parts making them seems even more special, like all of the special armour the forge world primarch models have. Then I realised that all the positions for the legs didn't really do what I wanted and also realised that the spiky legs wouldn't match the sanguinary chests that I had in mind.
I can't remember what made me realise it but I decided just to get some veterans and convert them. They wouldn't be taller but they'd look cool, no matter how badly converted, and would just fit.

Romulus is meant to be the slightly more wolf in character brother. Originally I wanted to mimic this (below), from the veterans MKII set, due to the lightning claw and superb pose. I was always going to use the MkIV jet packs because I think they look much cooler and help to separate them form all of the other jet packs in the army (bar the sanguinary guard's).

Spoiler:

For Remus I originally wanted to accentuate the link to the sanguinary guard and wanted a more jet pack based dynamic pose. I really liked the BA veteran sergeant model (below) and thought that would be a great starting place but quickly realised it would be too expensive. To mimic this pose I was going to chop up one of the metal vanguard vet models ( 2nd below), and use the legs and try to replicate the BA sergeant but a reflected version. However this model was harder to find and quickly became my favourite upon arrival and I was certainly not going to chop up my only one of him.

Spoiler:

Bearing in mind that Remus has wings (primarch like) and having a low down model with a higher up model with full on wings there was going to be some imbalance. Once the veteran MkII models arrived I realised what I could do:

Romulus
Romulus will be using the legs of the below vanguard veteran (was my 2nd favourite initially after the two handed swordsman {look up to top}) with the base built up to look like rubble and not an eldar thingy (this chapter doesn't really fight near the Edlar and also to make it look less like the praetorian/vet {I'll get another of this guy, much easier to find}) with some chest and using the arms of Asmondai*** and the axe off Astorath****. I think the pointing arms look really good and the right arm looks like a good shape with a nice skull shoulder pad, mimicking the difference in approach of Rom and Rem. The model is meant to be Romulus upon some rubble commanding whoever stands beneath him. The height of the model I think should be a good way to counter the wings of Remus.
The weapons are going to plasma pistol (Both will have a plasma pistol - engineering to not kill the user by the master engineers) but not in hand, and Astorath's axe (the axe would also mimic the more wolf character of Romulus and the axe of Astorath is a good unique axe to use).
paint wise I always liked the idea of having one white and one Black, like the last fight in 'Gladiator', and if anyone is going to be black it'll be Romulus (also may help with another idea - the last point at the bottom of this post). I may want to put on a GS robe to closer match the Remus model.

Spoiler:

Remus
really loving the above veteran MkII pose originally meant for Romulus and having it before me I realised it would be a really good fit. the model is essentially that model with a different sword arm allowing me to a equip a sanguinary guard shoulder pad on the right arm. I will also add on Astorath's back pack to form the wings and ornate jumpack. He should look fairly badass. Essentially the Left hand model below.
Weapons are a plasma pistol and sword.
He should be painted white (as discussed above).

I hadn't said but I am thinking about drilling off the heads of these models and putting in place long haired human heads like that of the Chaos Prince Sigvald, to show make them stand out.

The Wolf Cohort Elites / Hellhounds

yet without a name but seeing as I'd have a spare Astorath**** model lying about, potentially after seeing that a larger group of less skilled space marines would not match in the same way the Sanguinary guard (one of the reasons Romulus created the Wolf Cohort) Romulus had to create an elite group. he created an elite group made from the best marines from wolf packs. They went through much more elite training and do the same role, scouting ahead and terrorising the upcoming army before the battle, but also can act as a more direct show of power against the Sanguinary guard. they are painted black but again have free reign over their armour. They mostly wear skull mask for the intimidation factor, basically look like chaplains but without some of the other characteristics. They'll also have jet packs. This would also work quite well as both brothers have their own unit painted in their colours.

Initially I had wanted to go with black, blue and yellow colours however I am now thinking of just being more lenient and just having black armour ( at a point I thought of using a gloss black spray for the amrour colour but decided that it wouldn't look so good with everything else satin/matte and that for touch ups on the black parts it would really suffer), whatever coloured details but all having the same crest. Shields could even be different colours. This should resemble the medieval knights a bit better and just make things more interesting. In terms of models I had originally wanted all of them to have a sword and shield. Now I have decided that any medieval looking weapons are good but no firearms.
This chapter started off when I started to yern for the Deathwing knight models*. They really fit the theme: medieval/Gothic arches on their armour, robes, shields etc. I have a set of them, and i really like them though unfortunately due to how the robes go with the legs there isn't much scope for further customisation. when looking for the veteran MKII models for Romulus and co. I happened across an eBay sale also selling the Marneus Calgar model and a terminator Librarian (metal, I really love metal models now much more substantial). Since the package has arrived missing three of the 10 models, the two terminators included., but negotiations are on course. The Deathwing knights provided a good set of dudes and from now I expect I'll be just getting individual terminators and trying to do some customisation and making more individual characters.
No further themes here as they will just be black armoured medieval looking terminators, a bit of a rabble in terms of their appearance.

black armour
Medieval weapons, no guns.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Automatically Appended Next Post:
IMPERIAL GARGOYLES:

Tribunal Peditum

So these guys are grey space marines with bolters with robes and sanguinary guard death masks. Not much to say here. Each one will be quite individual, there shouldn't be that many of them. there should also be a few Imperial guard that the Inquisitor has commandeered. These guys will be issued with more snow specific armour and equipment and will look very similar to the 'Ice warriors of Valhalla'. These guys will be commanded by the any of the space marines so lots of commanding models would be expected. there should technically be more IG than SM.
The commander is also in this group, he should be fairly similar but just with a slightly commanding pose and potentially helmet off (below). He may also have a sword.

Grey armour with white IG uniform
Bolters should be used and the IG, standard issue flashlights. pocket mortars can be used by this tribunal.

The armour can have been taken off any 'heretical' orders any from the galaxy and hence can be all the way from Baneblades to Landraiders to small field guns. Artillery (all the way from Basilisks to field cannons) is also a preferred option as siege tactics are often used. White camo for the tanks and some tank netting is used.

Tribuanl Corpus Custodes

These guys are the guard of the Inquisitors. Initially I had thought they should be grey clad marines like the standard troops but with swords. Now I have decided to let the renaissance/Spanish inquisition/1500s Italy theme come through and will be using heavily red robed cream armoured SM's based off the Asmondai*** model (below). The idea is to mimic the monks/priests seen in this assassin's creed brotherhood trailer.
These guys aren't the average soldiers. Not brain dead and following commands, these guys are still somewhat initiative taking and are highly skilled. They are entirely devoted to the inquisitor, not just doing the orders of him, and will often just stand around him soaking up fire. they will often form up a shield bubble around him when he needs to escape the fight.
So these guys are robed marines with swords and shields, with beige armour and red robes.

The inquisitors will be whatever I have. I have a IG commander and inquisitor (2nd 3rd below, not my pictures) which will work. I think if I were to get anymore I would aim for the slightly medieval looking breast plates and sword wielding inquisitors. I think they should also be quite small in non heroic poses accentuating the cowardice nature of them.

MYRMIDONS

Primarch: Talos the Oracle
Chapter Master: Talos the Oracle
Homeworld:	Europa
Fortress Monastery: Banished
Derived from: Myrmidons
Colours:	White, Ice blue, Magenta accents
Speciality: assault
Battle Cry: "________"

THE FLUFF (need to edit)

Talos the Oracle

Begin designed to become the emperors negotiator [i]Talos was given powers in empathy. He also mutated to have the powers of being telepathic, some of the defects that led to his expulsion form the emperor.
After scattering he landed on a planet occupied by humans. The state of civilisation was quite high (Ancient greeks standards) and it was the queen (Jocasta) who picked him up. Not wanting the child to be killed or taken away she quickly dangled him in the pond of …. By the, ankle a ceremony performed upon the birth of a child to claim it as a mother's own. It was at this point where he was discovered by everyone else.
Since he had been through the ritual he was put into the family. Immediately there were obvious differences between him and his bothers and sisters. He was much taller and stronger and very emotive being able to sense what others were feeling very readily. Though no one knew of this yet, the other brothers had an issue with him, he wasn't one of them.
He proved himself to be very good at communicating, negotiating, and excelling in combat, warding off the forest mongers from the city. Though not king he was very much respected and named after an ancient myth of a Talos, a bronze automaton stading and protecting the city of Europa. The king did become slightly jealous.
One day the king attempted to assasinate the boy in his chambers with his household guard and tried to kill Talos. He retaliated and killed off all the guard mortally injuring his father. Once this event happened, the could sense this, awoke and queen rushed into the room and helped Talos (though was much younger than her, he had aged very quickly and had gained much of the queens affection) to cover everything up. She issued that … and he and her were secretly married (she had stated to get feeling for him ever since he had become a young adult). At this betrayal, the sons split up to muster forces to overthrow their adopted brother. Talos went to speak with each one negotiating peace (by his side was his favoured brother Patroclus who had always been on Talos's side), gaining the support of the King's favoured son, Ajax who was very well respected by the other brothers. However two brother Hector and Paris had strayed into the forbidden forest to muster forces, when they returned years later they were different and Talos could sense a ‘blind evil’ in them, he did not know this yet but it was the taint chaos.
In the following Battles Talos's brother, Patroclus, was slain by Hector. Writhing in pain, Talos's entered a rage, killing all men he saw. He managed to route the large army single handedly aside from Hector who remained. The two fought in single combat with Talos eventually slaying Hector, later parading the dead corpse of his brother throught the streets whilst still in a sense of rage.
Defeating Hector in glorious battle but unable to find and kill Paris (who returned into the forest), the emperor had soon become aware through his network of agents. He went to the world to meet his son unbeknown to Talos.

Unexpectedly, a stranger arrived in Europa, celaring hiself as the Sphinx. Wearing outlandish clothes the issued a challenge for Talos. If he were to win Talos would serve the strange man and if Talos were to win the man would ...... for the first time Talos was unable to read the thought so this strange man. Not thinking much of this and unaware of his heritage and of other civilisations outside of Europa, Talos figured the strange man wearing weird clothes was not thinking much, accepting the challenge.
Lasting 3 days the contest would test the competetors in intellect, stregnth, survivorvility and combat. The first day the competetors where tasked with writing riddels for the other. The day went quick with each compettor writign riddles into the next day, solving everyone and he test was called off as a draw.
Riddles include: "What is that which in the morning goeth upon four feet; upon two feet in the afternoon; and in the Evening upon three?"

the next day was a test of survivability. Both men were tasked to go into the forest and survive for a week. The survival skills were not the real test here but it was the will power to resist the urges of what was later found to be choas that was being tetsed. Talos knew that he would be fine as he had many a time journeys throught the forst warding of forest dwellers and taking mediditative hikes into it. Both the men appeared out of the forest the following week unharmed.

If the contest were not to be solved through the power of the mind of the competitors, the matter would be solved by a physical feat. The two were set to duell. Talos, now quite worried after seeing this man was no weird traveller and not being able to rely on sensing the comabatant's next move, prepared himself with a spear and sheild (pelte),whilst the wonderer prepared himself with his sword. the duel lasted into the next day, with neither memeber blundering still. eventually Talos, yeilded. Saying that any man who was able to stay a week in the forst, keep up wiht him in ab==battle and last his quizzes was clearly not an outlander but soemthing more substantial. Imperial sources may state that it was an injury to the heel that Talos obtained din the duel that prompted the retiement whilst soruces on Europa may state that Talos cold sense that the man he was fighting was his father(!), but the reaosning is unknown. The man revealed himself to be the mporer of mankind. Suddnely Talos fell sesning that this was his father, sensing the whole reason for his being.

Meeting myth
Emporre and legion
Return to plante

When meeting all his brother he was given command of the second legion. Talos was used to being disliked by brothers and his ability to read minds had a similar effect amongst the primarchs. It was only robert guillium that really reahced out to him, seeing the dynamic. Talos, also passioantely looked up to Sanguinius (some even say with considerable admiration) and replicated him in many ways. He created a gaurd unit much like the sanguinary gaurd and gave them wings. This affection was unrequited causing Talos considerable grief.
One day Talos noted a very dark side in horus through telepathy. He remebered the blind evil, his other brothers had faced and realised what was to come. In a hurry, he rushed to the emporer. Dismayed that Talos had reda the mind of his borhters (what he was not meant to do) and the accusation against his favourite son, he angrily dismissed Talos. Having witnessed the power of corruption of Chaos Talso took matteres into his own hands and atempted to assasinate Horus. Instead of assisinating Horus he was….
After learning of teis the emporer was furious and banished Talos and his conspiritors (his gaurd) and moved the rets of his legion to a company of his choosing. Talos chose the Ultramarines as Guillium wad the onlyone who really knew him and was the only one who listened (some say this is why guilliamun was able to come up with a plan so quickly).

Being banished he returned to his homeworld to find his queen.
After theHeresy outbreak, Talos could feel the anguish in his father. Still with reverence to his father his responce was limited but his emotions were not. He instructed his gaurd to paint their armour black in mouring, a tradition of Europa. For centuries talos would mope the palace with his black clad gaurd by him. Occasionally he would sneak in and vsist Terra, with no real powers to stop him. Arriving at the golden throne, he would weep for his father and learning of the detah of Sanguinius and Guillium. He then vowed never to let chaos prevail as it did the night he should of murdered his brother.
He would visit the tomb of Guillium to weep and the Tower of the lost to read the minds of those suffering the Black rage to remeber his brother Sanguinius.

After more time back in Europa, Talos could sense an awakening of one of his brothers. He could feel the rebirth of Guilliman, and unbriddled with joy concerning his favoured brother's awakening travelled to Terra in spite of the banishment exrted by his faher ( thoguh he had done this before, he had not with such numbers of the ramaing memebrs of his legion).

Re:Sons of Capitoline, Knights of Lindis, Imperial Gargoyles, Ark Angels; HHC's Space Marines WIP/FLUFF

THE PROTECTORS OF ULTRAMAR

So because I had some left over terminators and didn't know what to do with them and some bits from a Marneus Calgar model I thought I'd make another chapter. The idea for this one being a chapter that is really by the books (one in particular [Codex Astartes]) and basic and classic 'space marine' - as my others had been fairly loose with the fictional license; therefore a descendant of the Ultramarines, this obviously working well with my spare bitz.

Primarch: Roboute Guilliman
Chapter Master/Leader: Georg Smon Ohm
Homeworld:	Maccrage
Fortress Monastery: Temple of Correction
Derived from: Ultramarines
Colours:	Blue and White
Speciality: Jack of all trades, scouts and ranged combat
Battle Cry: "Courage and Honour! / 'We march for Macragge!'
Motto: 'Resistance, Resistance, Resistance'

THE FLUFF

Origin

Guilliman reborn
Disgusted by the decay, superstition, and ignorance that surrounds the modern Imperium, Guilliman convened a war council of his Ultramarines as to what to do next. Unsatisfied with the efforts of his chapter and the ecclesiarchy Guilliman took matters into his own hands. Despite being a son to the God emporer and a Primark, Guilliman knew that the ecclesiarchy would crucify him, if he were to be seen to be taking action against the current system.
With this in mind guilliman created a new chapter. Using his codex Astartes and the origional trainign mehtods and recruitment criteria of the thirteenth LEgion, Guilliamn recretated the true Thirteenth Legion, his real legion. Exploiting Loopholes in the codex, Guilliman was able to give alll base units a higher rank than most Ultramrines, and their distinctive blue and white colours would be enough to waft away most need for explanation. Though only mimicking the veterans of the Ultramairnes, their skill was unparalleed with much in thanks to the recruitment of experienced Yltramrine veterans by Guillimn himself and the experct scout masters of the Chpater.

They were Guilliman's hands with which to mold his clay. The chapter began doing Guillimans bidding often attacking imperial outposts which were sources of corruption and carrying out assasinations on corrupt memebrs of the ecclesiarchy. with their skill set and their cause just, the marines were lethal in their attack often absolutely clearing whole stations.

With little or no one to trust Guilliman sent his chapter to find the elder who had so much earlier helped him, and were largely in thanks to his rebirth. The craftworld was found in a Tau dockyard, deep within the territory of the Meiji enclave, close to the Capitoline system.

APEARANCE

The armour of a memeber of this chapter is very simillar to that of a memeber of the ultramarine's first company. Their __ blue armour with white shoulder pad rims, helmets and emblems.

Their armour is often adorned with many decorations. The laurels on their helmets are gven to them for completing their scout stage trainign, the most grouling training by any chapter in the imperium. During their trainign, the may also have been given rights to wear further decorations due to specia acts of valour and other such achievments. Further decorations are granted due to other acts in the feild.

Sergeants often wear red helmets, and members of this chapter are rarely seen with their helmets off.

The honoour guard pecially selected members of the chapter's first company. Their armour is slightly different with hooded helmets, eagle crested back packs and a prescence of black in their armour. The black symbolises the grief towards the emporer and for guilliman, towards the 'dead and decaying' empire.
These soldiers were trained in the lands of the Breuci in maccrage. these were tribespeaople who greatly resisted the campaign by guilliman and were noted by him to tbe the feircest swarriors he had ever fought against. Overwhelemed by numbers they eventually fell but due to their valour and fighiting ability, they were shortly granted citizenship settleding in Dacia. As a result they borrow customs from the traditional practise of the tribesmen, using black war paint over their helmets and other tribal patterns on their armour. Many of their guerilla tactics are also used by these soldiers who not only form the bodygaurd of the Chapter master but also serve as the very inner circle of guillimans hitmen. They are often said to only answer to the primarch not the chapter master. An mysterious elite unit, once a memeber always a memeber.

___________________________________________________________________
In the two hundred and fifty years since the arrival of Hive Fleet Behemoth, Ultramar has been the bastion of the eastern fringe. This constant exposure to this threat pulled together men and resulted in more cliquey squads. In order to be able to counter the hive more directly and quickly, a set of battle brothers set up a new chapter from the Ultramarines. Calling themselves the protectors of Ultramar, they're objective was to protect mankind (Maccrage) following the steps of Roboute Guilliman, their primarch, with the motto 'Resistance, resistance, resistance'. The chapter was set up, abiding by the Codex Astartes, very strictly. They admired the work of their primary so much often regarding the non Codex Astartes abiding chapters heretical.
Staying very loyal (almost viewing themselves as just the servants of the Ultramarines - that said, they are still viewed as equals from the ultramrines and other chapters)) to their original chapter the symbol was to be an Omega sign, (upside down Ultramarine symbol). It was well known that the chapter would 'equip' their symbols upside down on their armour and banners making it identical to that of the ultramarines.

Later the chapter would retire to a less hive threatened area, realising their chapter would be better at helping mankind by dealing with internal troubles leaving the group more established chapters to deal with the behemoth. As a result the chapter has now become the guardians of the Ultramarine sector, keeping rebellions under control, dealing with other alien threats, frequently helping out their father chapter and keeping guard of the Shrine of the Primarch. The guarding of the shrine of the Primarch is a role taken exclusively by the first company.
The second company is the main battle company and often moves with the chapter master. The tenth company is frequently split up and assigned to the main battle companies.

Due to the chapter's heritage interests and pride in their history and quality of fighters, the chapter has a very very vigorous training programme resulting in very large tenth company. Like their father chapter they pride their tenth company in quality and mentors boasting some of the most prestigious scout training sergeants. As a result of this vigorous training schemes often even the later squads of the companies (V onwards) will partake in more junior roles such as scouting on bikes and usually let the more experienced, older I,II...IV squads to do most of the front-line fighting. It is not unusual for companies to be banded together to full fill the role of one full battle company as is their keenness on the later squads training.

Organisation

with regard to organisation (like all the aspects of this chapter), the Codex Astates is strictly adhered to. The Chapter Master is accompanied by his honour guard. As the chapter focuses on its long range warfare, the two positions in the honour guard specified by the CA ([standard and] champion) still use their boltguns/combi-weapons and have their swords as a more ornamental object. That said, the Champion is still very skill full in the art of the sword and does still take up the role of duelling however the battle doesn't usually come to that.
Heraldry is also in accordance to the CA, but the more senior members often slightly edit their emblems and add ornaments (often received as a medal etc.) often adding knife or reversing the Omega. Company is denoted by a stripe on the left knee pad.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Emblem: Capital Omega symbol

Colour scheme: Blue and White

Is pretty much a battle hardened, less abundant and more ornate/interesting/personal Ultramarines.

THE MEIJI TAU ENCLAVE

The Meiji Enclaves are a series of heavily-fortified Tau colony worlds gonverned by their respective Daimyos who report to the enclave's Shogun. Though the Enclave is not recognised by the Tau empire, the Enclave claims its allegence is to the Tau empire. They are led and ruled by the legendary Tau Fire Caste Commander Kalavinka and based south of the eastern fringe of the Segmentum Ultima in the Milky Way Galaxy.

This Enclave has been deemed tribal by the Tau Empire who have forbidenn passage through it. The Enclave harks back to the days of the tribal plain dwelling tribes. The enclave maintains the rich culture of the Tau post the ethereals' appearance. Deemed to be lacking faith in the greater good, the Tau empire does not recognise them or their actions however has never made any attempt to comabt the group due to their famed battle poroess.

FORMATION

The Formation of the enclave was as a result of the rapid changing of the social and political situation in the Tau Empire. These certain Tau had maintained their identiy and after their historical tribal leader was banished form the empire many of her loyal subjects followed her. THese origonal 47 members were named 'ronin' by the Tau empire.
Kalavinka was always a very hot headed Commander; often prefering more aggressive and less prudent tactics and not having much time for negotiations or instilling the will of the greater good, she frequently lost her temper and became unpopular with the etherals, often poving to be resistant to their barinwashing.
Despite her flaws, she was famed for her battle prowess, her giant leaps into hoards of enimies, engaing in close-ish combat flushing her opponents into a trap. Advanced ambush tactics were her speciallity with her name being derived from the large winged monster Kalavinka from her homeworld, known for their death dives which would terrorsie local settlements, she was revered and adopted simillar attcics. Often she wears the skin of a kalavinka and caried the tallons of one, her initiation for Captaincy.

The Enclave is split into many different families each commanded by the diamyo who answers to the shogun: Kalavinka. Each house has a diffreent colour and speciality. Houses from worlds of fire and magma often utilise their natural resources and etchnolog to create specialised flame basedtactics, whiclst other houses live on terrains where large open battles are most common making the ammount of firepower the most important factor employing th euse of burst cannons or long range missle pods. Other hosues live in the ruins of old Imperial cities and have to use close Combat weaponary.
