[1850] - Space Wolves - Semi-competitive RIP AND TEAR(plus psychic)

This is an attempt at making an optimal Space Wolves list while restricting to a single faction. There isn't much to say about this list, it's essentially just run everyone forward and pray for stormshield saves. The drop-pod wulfen is usually the only wulfen squad out of the 3 that will ever see combat, sometimes I roll well on the curse of the wulfen table and get 1st turn charge, the rune priest with helm of durfast can pretend he's Tau and shoot out 4D6 rerolling ignore cover S7 shots with Living Lightning, the rest of the rune priests will roll for biomancy.

Looking for feedback and possible improvement, I don't expect to beat psychic death stars and tier-1 tournaments lists, but it should still be pretty entertaining to play.

One possible change is to drop one rune priest to get something else to bulk up my numbers, but I haven't thought of the alternatives yet.

Champion of Fenris
HQ
Wolf Guard Battle Leader - Thunderwolf, Runic Armour, Stormshield, Krakensword - 175

Elite
Servitor - 10
Servitor - 10

Fast Attack
5*Thunderwolf cavalry - 3*storm shield, Power fist, Frost sword - 290
6*Thunderwolf cavalry - 3*storm shield, Power fist, Frost sword - 330
Drop-pod - 35

Murderpack
5*wulfen - 2*Stormshield/Hammer, Frost claw, 2*Frost Axe, Grenade launcher - 220
5*wulfen - 2*Stormshield/Hammer, Frost claw, 2*Frost Axe, Grenade launcher - 220
5*wulfen - 2*Stormshield/Hammer, Frost claw, 2*Frost Axe, Grenade launcher - 220

Wyrdstorm Brotherhood
Rune Priest - ML2, bike, Helm of Durfast - 125
Rune Priest - ML2, bike - 105
Rune Priest - ML2, bike - 105

1845

Bumping due to no feedback

One thing I would like to know is whether I have any chance against armies that do close combat better than I do like daemons or genestealer cult, I don't really have much flexibility in this list with the exception of psychic powers so I might be quite boned.

How viable is it to switch the rune priests for a couple of dreads in pods? (murderfang and bjorn)

Hahaha I like it! Being restricted to one faction, I think you did well.

Played Helm on RP at a tourney, the TO ruled that LL isn't a shooting "weapon" so didn't apply no cover. Sigh.

Imo I'd peel off a unit of wulfen, add an iron priest on thunderwolf mount with 4'sh Cyberwolves, and two fen pupps to the wgbl and have each join a TWC unit to make them last better.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Just played a GT last weekend, had Bjorn in Lucius w/ Legacy of Glory: Istvan V (no scatter deepstrike), which did quite well. MFang in pod, however, did nothing for me each and every game. Lol. Two dreads didn't work for me, 1 was great! (My list was a WulfenStar w/ 2 dreads and a Paladin IK w/ Wydstorm Bikers)

I lost Game 3 due to one word: Invisibility. Woulda ROCKED his star, but it had invis so instead I lost. I charged him like a SW would do instead of dying off in the corners lol but still... Culexus is kinda necessary or at least Librarius Enclave for Invis for yourself at least. If you want it to be like Tournament Competitive...

I do like the list. For maelstrom, you'd need a touch of msu perhaps to enable your CC squads to nomnomnom targets they want to without being tied down to Objective Chores.
