Eboracum Novum was originally a hive world of the Imperium not unlike any other until the cataclysm. Agents of subversives groups in particular; the death cult of the red Hand, the technological heretics of Advanced Imperial Mechanics a former Mechanicus sub sect that’s wished to push past proscribed boundaries and most importantly the Alpha Legion backed cultists of the Cult of the Hydratus, conducted a ritual to bring about the downfall of imperial rule and the ascendance of Chaos. The world and its orbiting moons became becalmed in the warp and separated from the rest of the system. Yet in a bizarre twist of fate the predations of Chaotic entities did not become more prolific due to some flaw in the ritual, yet time dilation increased. Luckily for the Imperial forces Inquisitor Lord O’Mage was docked at the space port with his detachment of Adeptus Astartes and a personal retinue of Guardsmen recruited from a variety of regiments. The Inquisitor took control from the weakling governor who renounced his position, a petition answered by the Inquisitors forces with a handy bolt shell. Taking full martial control, the Inquisitor fought back and managed to unify loyalist forces and win back the majority of the planet and the moons although enclaves still exist both in secret with in compliant areas and also a few hard to reach areas.
