[1850] - Salamanders

Hey guys, getting back into the hobby, and I'm wanting to put together a competitive 1850 list that still has some fluffy elements. The list that follows makes use of the Gladius Strike Force with 2 Demi-battle companies, so everything in the list has objective secured (19 units if you count independent characters separately), makes lots of use of melta and flamers (per Salamanders fluff, they get master-crafted meltas), and does not invest too heavily in a single unit. Before I go buy and paint up the models, I want to know I'm building a competitive army. Thanks in advance!

Command Squads:
Storm Raven w/multi-melta
Vulkan He'stan
5 Assault marines w/eviscerator & Thunder Hammer
515 pts

Razorback w/twin-linked Heavy flamer
Chaplain
5 Assault marines w/eviscerator & Thunder hammer
215 pts

Tactical Squads
x3:
Razorback w/Twin-linked Lascannon
5 marines w/melta
100 pts each (300 total)

x3:
razorback w/Twin-linked heavy flamer
5 marines w/melta & combi-flamer
90 pts each (270 total)

Devastators:
5 devastators w/ 4 Grav-Cannon and Grav-amp
210 pts

5 devastators w/ 4 multi-melta
drop pod
110

Remaining Storm Wing:
2 Stormtalons w/Skyhammer missile launcher
230 points

The normal plan would be to drop the multi-melta devastators behind enemy lines to pop some armor/kill big stuff while lascannons take their shots long range. the razorbacks with lascannons stay in the back line securing objectives while those without push forward trying to bring their flamers and tactical squads to bear across the board. Gravs sit in the middle and shoot stuff. Vulkan and his assault squad come in with the storm wing and hammer where needed.

Thoughts?

I also want to make sure I'm using the formations correctly, because I haven't played since 6th edition. Specifically, I wanted to use the gladius strike force to get the free transports (minus upgrades of course).

I think it looks pretty good, I don't think it will be insanely competitive compared to some things out there but it definitey has the power to roll over a lot of armies without a problem, the only issue I can see is psychic defence. a lot of powerful armies bring high psyking potential to the table, Eldar, other SM armies, Daemons and GK, however I don't know if you'll have an issue with the latter two. You don't want to sacrifice your AA but if you had a way to get a Libby in there with a unit of scouts as an allied detatchment for 145 points it couldn't hurt.

I personally find the psychic phase to be a case of go big or go home or have some method of casting on a 2+
