Something that confuses me in Daemonifuge

I have a question for those who read the graphic novel Daemonifuge. There is a point where I have a hard time stating what's real and what was an illusion in the story.
At the begining of the book 3, Ephrael is dying within the Imperial palace where she was trapped by members of the Ordo Malleus. She starts to remember everything that happened before this, where we can see a lot of events that we didn't witness in the story of the books 1 and 2.
http://i.imgur.com/GMTxjep.jpg
Then her eldar companion arrives and she declares that something is wrong.
http://i.imgur.com/WwqMQyO.jpg
Then it's where I'm confused: we see her again, prisonner of Ahriman, tied to some sort of psychic device.
http://i.imgur.com/KeIUYNU.jpg

At first I concluded that all these scenes happening in the imperial palace while she was dying from this bolter shot were in fact an illusion of Ahriman's device, and the eldar appearing to her, asking her to tell him everything she knows before she dies, is a plan of Ahriman in order to make her talk.
However some elements contradict that. Right after she wakes up, Ahriman says that he wants the knowledge of the Eldar, and the strength of Ephrael. So the illusion of the eldar asking her to tell him everything she knows wouldn't make sense.
Also, she remembers in the palace that she escaped from Ahriman fifteen years ago. She didn't even see him before she got captured, only rubric marines.
Yet however she mentions that she faced a plague lord in a nurgle corrupted world after her escape, which seems to be true since she ends up on a world that is being tainted by Nurgle when she resurrects and faces that Culexus at the end.
But then again it does not tie with it because the world she is on at the end of book 3 is called Jenicae, and the one she mentionned in the palace was korsk-451. (it also seems like she was admitted back within the ranks of battle sisters in her memories within the Imperial palace before she faced that plague lord, in a pannel that has no narration). And in the pannel where she says that she thinks she escaped Ahriman, we see her fighting the rubric marines, while in the real event later she was completely high and helpless , and didn't even put up a fight but killed herself.

But I'm still unsure, when she was dying in the Imperial palace, she did say that her memories were sludge, so her mind could have twisted them. And if everything she remembered while lying on the ground of the Imperial palace was an illusion, then how can we be sure that the events of book 1 and 2 were real? Oooh boy I'm confused.
Is the moment we see her prisonner of Ahriman's device a flashback, or the actual present prooving that everything we thought that happened in the future was a lie?

Knowledge is power, and Ahriman knows this more than most.

To use Ephrael's power, Ahriman needs to know everything about that power's origin, how it can be replicated, and how it is used - He doesn't want to have to experiment with that power himself, in case it would destroy him if accidentally mishandled, and he'd almost certainly not want to give it to another (and potentially make someone too powerful to control in the process).

Easier to extract that knowledge from Ephrael.

It's a trick.

The beginning of book 3 it's Ephrael memories being somewhat used by Ahriman to make her believe she is dying but in safe hands, so she can share her knowledge safely, but in reality it's Ahriman and not the Eldar listening.

the 3rd link provides and example of how the device torture/interrogates each one for the Eldar (whose name is Kylganyl of the bloody tears former harlequin) make him believe he is dying and Ahriman is posing as a farseer asking him about how to reach the black libray.

But the sheer force of will of ephral proves to strong and is capable to see tru the deception and break free.
