MacroMats Miniature Photo Backdrop

I don't THINK posting this is in violation of the board policies - if so I apologize and please delete. However I think this has real relevant value to the community and will help everyone interested. I recently had a live demo of the MacroMats product presented to me by Doug and Todd of Tablewar and this is absolutely the right place for it. If you are posting pictures of your miniatures online, you will want to get in on this kickstarter.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/819121569/macromat-miniature-photo-backdrops

I also did an interview with them on The Independent Characters. The interview starts at about the 1:12:45 mark if you aren't interested in the rest of the show. You can find that here:

http://theindependentcharacters.com/blog/?p=3802

Interesting Idea, but the cost is quite high. Looks to be really well made, but a google image search and a printer can make very cost effective options too.

I even bought a foldio with three backdrops for the price of their backdrops alone.

Like I said, interesting idea, but I think priced a wee bit too high.

This offers some options the foldio does not (I own one as well). Namely the ability to have a backdrop of larger size as well. The price tag is pretty reasonable when you include the stand as well. Reasonable enough to be funded anyway. I predict you are going to see quite a few pictures in the next year with these backdrops...

MacroMats Miniature Photo Backdrop

Interesting. I like the gradients and cloudy looks of the backdrops. However, I don’t think it would work well with my lightbox.

If someone is trying to get better pics of their minis (a noble goal) I got my lightbox, with lights and 4 solid color (not nearly as nice) backdrops for roughly the same price point. If someone already has ample lighting, this product might be a decent investment.

MacroMats Miniature Photo Backdrop

Eh for that price, you can snag the awesome Hangar 18 backdrops. These are also very small, 15x30 may sound big but in practice it only works for smaller stuff.

For $20 or less, you can pick up these super awesome backgrounds and either cut them down to size for your specific lightbox, or keep them whole for full army shots. They are big enough to do both really, super durable, great for pictures (obviously) and dont require special lighting. Plus they come in all the 40k ish colors you could want.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01K1A22EK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Im not trying to hate all over this kickstarter, I just dont see any advantage over taking this product vs what is already on the market.
