Or cultists for a cheaper alternative. Possessed only belong if you plan to do a slaughter cult which is very common and pretty good way to run KDK.
Units that shine for me in KDK are Maulerfiends, Lords on Juggars, Bloodthirsters (D or regular), the gorepack, heldrakes.
I'd avoid the prince and go with a lord for your other HQ when you can.
