Newby Lost Brotherhood / Death Company player in need of some tips n tricks

Hello dear people of Dakka Dakka!

After having played Warhammer Fantasy Battles / T9A for over 10 years, I have recently converted to 40K after I moved over to my girls home country of Sweden and met a very friendly local gaming group starting a narrative campaign.

I have decided to land and spend on the infamous Death Company, as they simply are a bunch of bad asses and I like both the models and the background to them.
With Christmass around the corner I wish to order my stuff soon and get going.

Now I know that I can play a fully "legal" Death Company Army using the Lost Brotherhood and Death Company Strike Force detachment / formation rules in Angel's Blade.

However, I have a couple of questions and looking for some (general) tips and tricks to get going and was hoping some of you might wanna help me out!

1) First of, a simple question: the "Final Flight" rule in Angel's Blade and the Restrictions part in the Death Company Strike Force say units of the Death company can take a Stormraven Gunship as dedicated transport. The "restrictions" part of that is confusing me a little: does this mean I can ONLY take Stormraven Gunships as dedicated transports or can I take Drop Pods / Rhinos / Razorbacks as normal? I have seen quite some people take them but the "restriction" part kind of counters this a little? This newby would love some clearification on that!

2) Other question is what should I definately include in my DC Strike Force in terms of weaponry and/or what is a good, general, lay out for the units:
- Chaplain
- DC Squad
- DC Dreadnaught

3) Furthermore what are ideal unit set ups in terms of quantity / extra equipment / dedicated transports etc. ?

4) How can I deal best with enemy vehicles/flyers?

5)And last but not least: any more (general) tips for playing the Death Company?

Your input will be greatly appreciated!

- Cheers

Gnarkill

Newby Lost Brotherhood / Death Company player in need of some tips n tricks

I'll offer a more detailed response when not at work and am able to sit down with my copy of Angel's Blade later, but for starters Welcome to the hobby and to Blood Angels as well!

Regarding your questions:

1) I will get back with you on this, see my opening paragraph above. I would assume it is an added dedicated transport option but don't quote me on that obviously.

2.) The Lost Brotherhood Is one of the following: Astorath the Grim, Lemartes, guardian of the lost, or a Death Co. Chaplain.
In addition to that you need a second Death Co. Chaplain, three squads of Death Co., and a Death Co. Dreadnought.

3.) Kit them with Bolt pistols & chainswords, with one in every five Death Co. armed with a Bolt Gun & Powerfist instead. This holds true no matter if you're running a 5 man, 10 man, or even 15 man unit. I also highly suggest jump packs.
Another option is keep them more bare bones and armed with bolters and no jump packs, but you'll still want to run one power fist per 5 models.
Lastly, subbing a power weapon (sword or axe is my preference) paired with a bolt pistol is an ok option if you're starved for points and looking to trim some from somewhere, however I still recommend the powerfist over the power weapon if possible.

4.) Bring a basic CAD and use a fortification with an anti air weapon for flyers, or leave your storm raven(s) to deal with them and other armor.

5.) More to be added here when not at work.

Take it easy for now.

-Red__Thirst-
